Push notifications allow you to receive instant alerts from your Reolink cameras whenever motion or other events are detected. To ensure you don’t miss important updates, follow the steps below to enable push notifications on your iPhone or Android phone inside both the phone settings and the Reolink App.
Applies to: All Reolink devices.
Step 1: Allow Reolink App Notifications in Phone Settings
iOS
-
Go to Settings > find and tap Reolink.
-
Select Notifications.
-
Turn on Allow Notifications.
- (Optional) Enable Sounds to receive sound alerts.
Android
-
Go to Settings > Notifications > select Reolink.
-
Turn on Allow notifications.
-
(Optional) Enable Ring and Vibrate to receive sound or vibration alerts.
Step 2: Enable Push Notifications in the Reolink App
-
For Standalone Reolink Cameras
1. Open the Reolink App, go to the camera’s Settings page, and turn on Push Notifications.
2. Tap Test in the upper right corner. If you receive the message “This is a test message, push notification set on xxx,” the setup is successful and the camera can send notifications to your phone. Then proceed to Step 3 to configure schedules (only required for cameras that support Smart Detection).
-
For Reolink Cameras on NVR
1. Open the NVR Settings, select Push Notification, turn it on.
2. Enable it for the cameras you want to receive alerts from.
3. Go to Settings and tap Test in the upper right corner. If you receive the message “This is a test message, push notification set on xxx,” the setup is successful and the camera can send notifications to your phone. Then proceed to Step 3 to configure schedules (only required for cameras that support Smart Detection).
-
For Reolink Cameras on Home Hub Series
1. Enter the camera’s Settings page > Push Notification, then turn it on.
2. Tap Test in the upper right corner. If you receive the message “This is a test message, push notification set on xxx,” the setup is successful and the camera can send notifications to your phone. Then proceed to Step 3 to configure schedules (only required for cameras that support Smart Detection).
⚠️ Note:
1. The Push Notification option in the camera’s settings sends alerts for motion detection events, while the Push Notification option under Home Hub Settings only notifies you when Home Hub status is abnormal or when there is insufficient storage. For more details, see Managing Alert Events for Video Loss on Reolink Home Hub Series.
2. For standalone cameras, even if push notifications are enabled, adding the camera to a Home Hub series will default to push notifications off. You will need to turn push notifications back on after adding it.
If you cannot enable Push Notifications or the test fails, refer to Reolink Push Notifications Operation Failed for troubleshooting.
Step 3: Customize Your Push Notifications
⚠️ Note: Depending on the model, some settings may not be available. Refer to the actual interface of your device.
Schedule
This section lets you customize when and what types of alerts you want to receive.
-
Detection Type: Choose the types of events you want to be notified of, such as person, vehicle, or animal (available options may vary by camera model).
-
Time Schedule: Enable the hours during which you want to receive notifications. Each block represents one hour.
Device Notification Ringtones
Enable this option to receive a sound along with push notifications when an event is detected. You can customize the ringtone based on your phone:
