If the motion zone is normally affected by spiderweb, you can follow the methods below to effectively reduce those false alarms.

Applies to: All Reolink cameras which use Motion Detection

Cause 1. Spiderweb keeps shaking, or the spider is crawling around.

If the spiderweb is moving in front of the lens and seriously triggering false alarms, you may clear up the spiderweb or try to put the camera in a different place to see if it's possible to avoid false alarms.

Cause 2. Alarm Settings are improper.

You can set a proper motion detection area on the camera and lower down the motion detection sensitivity for the camera, refer to How to Set Up Motion Detection Zone and Set Up Motion Detection Sensitivity for Reolink Cameras.

Cause 3. Record/Email/FTP/Siren/Push/Buzzer schedule is set improperly.

Configure a proper Record/Email/FTP/Siren/Push/Buzzer schedule, which can also reduce certain false alarms caused by spiderweb.

Cause 4. Record/Email/FTP/Siren/Push/Buzzer detection type is set improperly.

For camera with smart detection feature, you can go to Record/Email/FTP/Siren/Push/Buzzer Alarm schedule setting, disable "any motion" to reduce false alarms caused by spiderweb. Refer to How to Set up Smart Person Detection only via Reolink APP or How to Set up Smart Person Detection only via Reolink PC Client.

Cause 5. Spiderweb is detected as person/vehicle/pet.

For camera with smart detection feature, according to the type of motion recognized by spiderweb, adjust the corresponding alarm delay (0-2s) and object size, also turn down the smart detection sensitivity. Refer to How to Set up Smart Detection Alarm via Reolink App
