Applies to: Reolink OMVI 3i PoE, OMVI 3i WiFi, OMVI Series P931, OMVI Series W931

  • 1. What is the Reolink OMVI 3i Series and its resolution?

The Reolink OMVI 3i Series is a triple-lens panoramic pan-tilt security camera that integrates a 10MP dual-lens panoramic camera and a 4K 8MP PT camera into a single device, delivering comprehensive monitoring with a combined total resolution of 18MP.

  • 2. What is the difference between panoramic dual-lens cam and PT cam on OMVI 3i Series?

The upper panoramic dual-lens camera delivers a wide 180° panoramic view for full-scene monitoring, ensuring broad area coverage and continuous situational awareness.

The lower PT camera provides a detailed close-up view with pan and tilt tracking capabilities, allowing it to focus on and follow specific targets for more precise observation.

When working together, both cams' views are displayed simultaneously on the Reolink App. Even while the PT camera pans or tilts to track the targets, the panoramic view remains visible, helping eliminate blind spots and ensuring key moments are always in view.

  • 3. How to power Reolink OMVI 3i Series?

    ▶ OMVI 3i WiFi, OMVI Series W931

Both cameras support only one power method: a DC 12V/2A power adapter.

    ▶ OMVI 3i PoE, OMVI Series P931

There are 3 methods to power these cameras, and you could choose one method based on your scenario:

Method 1. Power via PoE Injector/Switch
You could power it using a PoE injector or switch. Make sure it is an 802.3at standard (PoE+) and supports active mode. The single-port power port must also be 30W or higher.

Method 2. Power via PoE NVR
Connect it to the Reolink compatible PoE NVR using a single network cable. The camera will then receive power and network via the Reolink PoE NVR. It's recommended that you use the Ethernet cable with Cat5 or higher. Refer to Introduction to Ethernet Cable and How to Connect PoE Switch, Router and Reolink NVRs to know more about the Ethernet cable and connection.

Method 3. Power via Power Adapter
You could power it with a power adapter as well, and the ratings of the power adapter should be DC 12V/2A. Note that if you power the camera using a power adapter, an Ethernet cable connection to a router or network device is still required for network communication.

  • 5. How is the preview and playback displayed in the software for this triple-lens camera?

This triple-lens camera generates two separate views: one from the upper dual-lens panoramic (dual-lens) camera, which corresponds to the lower view in the App; and the other from the lower PT camera, which corresponds to the upper view in the App, as shown in the figure below.

    two separate views

The presentation of these views in live view and playback differs depending on the software platform. For the most accurate layout and behavior, refer to the interface shown in the Reolink App, Client, or NVR (monitor connected).

Note: Although this camera displays two views, it only occupies one channel when connected to the Reolink NVR. If you want to switch between single-view and dual-view simultaneously on the App or NVR monitor, refer to Display Mode feature on NVR monitor and the switch view feature on Reolink App.

  • 6. What Are Pinpoint, SyncTrack, and Auto Framing on Reolink OMVI 3i Series?

Pinpoint: It makes controlling the cameras faster and more intuitive by allowing users to quickly move the camera view to a specific area with a simple tap or click on the software. If you're interested in it, you could refer to Introduction to Pinpoint Feature on Reolink Cameras to know more about it.

SyncTrack: It maintains continuous panoramic monitoring of the upper panoramic cam while separately performing close-up tracking of the lower PT cam—even if they leave the wide-angle view.

Auto Framing: It is an intelligent zoom-and-track feature, which automatically zooms in and adjusts the view when a target object is detected, making people, vehicles, or animals appear larger and clearer. If you want to set up SyncTrack and Auto Framing feature, refer to Introduction to SyncTrack and Auto Framing on Reolink Cameras. Note that you need to update the camera's firmware version and Reolink App (v4.60 or later) to the latest version before setting up both SyncTrack and Auto Framing.
