Applies to: Reolink WiFi cameras except battery-powered ones

When you fail to add the supported WiFi cameras to PoE NVR on a monitor, it shows "Video Loss", you can first check whether the camera is on the IP channel page on the monitor.

If the camera is on IP Channel, please read the three solutions below included in Phenomenon 1.

If the camera is not on IP Channel, please refer to the solutions included in Phenomenon 2.

Phenomenon 1:

On the IP channel of the NVR monitor, you can see the camera information. But the status shows the invalid password or offline or connection failed.

Cause 1: As for the Status Like "Invalid Password", It Means that the Camera Needs to Be Typed in the Password

Type in the password of the camera by scrolling to the right side of the screen.

Cause 2:  As for the Status Like "Offline", the Camera Maybe Hasn’t Been Assigned A Channel

To assign a channel for the camera. Every camera needs a channel. Note: Each channel can only be assigned to one camera. Refer to Method 2 from How to Arrange the Display Order of Cameras via Reolink PoE NVR

Cause 3: As for the Status Like "Offline", There May Be Two Same IP Addresses of The Cameras

Reboot the NVR and the cameras to see if the IP addresses can be changed.

Phenomenon 2:

If you have used a DC power adapter to power on the camera and connect it to the PoE NVR, but on the IP channel page, you cannot find the camera. And the monitor shows “Video Loss”.

Here are the suggestions for solving the issue like Phenomenon 2.

Cause 4: The Camera May Not Be Powered on Properly

Use a power adapter to power on the camera first. Check this article to know which power adapter suits your camera: What is the Output Voltage for Reolink DC Power Adapter

How to tell if the camera is powered on? Place the camera under an entirely dark environment, if the infrared lights of the camera turn on, then the camera is powered on properly. If you are using the power adapter with the correct specs, but the IR lights of the camera can't turn on, please contact Reolink Support(support@reolink.com).

Cause 5: If The Camera Can Be Powered on Properly But The Status on The IP Channel Still Shows Offline Or Connection Failed, Maybe The Connection Between The Camera And The NVR Has Something Wrong.

As for the C series cameras and the RLC series cameras, if they can be powered on and also are on the same network as the PoE NVR, but the status is Offline, please check:

  1. Please use the original cable that comes with the camera or CAT 6,7,8 Ethernet cable to connect the camera to the PoE port of the NVR, and check if the lights beside the port are flashing or not.
  2. If the lights beside the port don't flash, please change both cables and ports to have a try. You can use the cables and the ports that the good-working cameras are using to have a test on this camera.
  3. If the lights can flash, please reset the camera and try to add it to the NVR again.

To reset C series cameras, please refer to: How to Reset Reolink Keen, C1, C1 Pro, C2 and C2 Pro

To reset RLC series cameras, please refer to: How to Reset Bullet or Dome Cameras

As for the E series cameras and Reolink Lumus, please check:

  1. Make sure that the cameras have been set up already and can be used on your phone app or Reolink Client(Windows/Mac) separately.
  2. If the cameras can be viewed via phone or a PC separately, please check whether the cameras and the NVR are connecting to the same router. Only when they are in the same network can the NVR find the cameras on the IP channel and add them successfully.

Cause 6: If The Camera Can Be Powered On Properly But The Status of The Camera Shows Connection Failed on The IP Channel And You Still Fail to Add It, It May Be Caused by Some Issues of The NVR And Cameras Themselves.

Reset both the cameras and the NVR.

To reset C series cameras, please refer to: How to Reset Reolink Keen, C1, C1 Pro, C2 and C2 Pro
