Applies to: Reolink PoE cameras

Description of the problem: When the PoE camera is directly connected to the Reolink PoE NVR, camera cannot get any power or cannot power on.  Please reset the camerathen cover the entire lens area with your hand to simulate darkness. This will help check if the IR LEDs or the spotlight turn on.

If the camera is too large to cover by hand, you can place a cardboard box over it to block out light completely. Alternatively, you can place the camera in a completely dark room and wait for a few seconds. In this condition, you should see the IR LEDs turn on or hear a "click" sound as the night mode activates. If neither happens, it may indicate an issue with the camera.

There are several possible causes for the POE camera not being powered by the POE NVR. You may follow the troubleshooting tips listed below to solve the problem.

Cause 1. The camera is not properly connected to the NVR.

Solution: Please check the POE lights of the NVR. If the lights are not on, please plug the camera into other ports that work and use another working Ethernet cable.

Cause 2. Insufficient power supply from POE NVR

Solution: Please make sure that the cameras added to the NVR are no more than the specified quantity. And then please unplug all other cameras and leave one camera connected to the NVR for a test. If problem persists, please contact the support team.

Cause 3. The POE module of the camera fails to get power

Solution: Please use the DC adaptor to power the camera on.
