Reolink Google Home Problem

Issue matches any of the following criteria:

  • The smart home App device page does not detect the camera.
  • The camera can be seen in the list of Google Home App devices, but cannot be previewed on the Google Home App.
  • Failed to load the camera image on Google Home screen devices after using voice command.

Troubleshooting Steps for Reolink Google Home Problem

To make Reolink work with Google Home, please refer to the instructions first. How to Add Reolink Cameras to Google Home

If Reolink smart home failed to load or if it still doesn't work, below are the solutions you may refer to:

  • The Google Home App Does Not Detect the Camera

    Step 1 Confirm that the camera has been enabled on the Reolink App Smart Home Page. Note: If the smart home skill for the camera cannot be enabled, please refer to the instructions Reolink Smart Home Operation Failed

    Step 2 Make sure the Reolink device can be accessed from a remote network.

    Step 3 Ensure that the Reolink account used in Reolink App and Smart Home App is the same one. Reolink Account

    Step 4 Delete the camera from the Reolink account, re-bind it, and add it to the smart home.

    Note: Make sure the camera has a UID and is not directly connected to the NVR. (Only cameras with a UID support smart home features. Additionally, NVRs do not support smart home functionality. Therefore, if your camera has a UID but is directly connected to an NVR, the smart home features will not be available.)

  • Unable to View Camera Streams in Google Home App 

    If you see this message, “This video stream can't be viewed here. If you have a smart display or Chromecast, you can ask the Assistant to stream it there”, it means your camera does not support previewing in the Google Home App. It is recommended to use a Chromecast device or a Google Home display screen to view the camera.

    If you do not see this error message, please continue with the following troubleshooting steps:

    Step 1 Confirm that the camera has been enabled on the Reolink App Smart Home Page. Note: If the smart home skill for the camera cannot be enabled, please refer to the instructions Reolink Smart Home Operation Failed

    Step 2 Make sure the Reolink device can be accessed from a remote network.

    Step 3 Ensure that the Reolink account used in Reolink App and Smart Home App is the same one. Reolink Account

    Step 4 Rebind Reolink Smart Home Skills in the Google Home App. 

    Step 5 Make sure the firmware version of your camera is the latest. How to Manually Update Firmware for Reolink Devices

    Step 6 Name the camera in English without a number, for example, front door.

    Step 7 Reboot the camera for a try. 

  • Unable to See Stream via Google Home Screen Devices

    Step 1 Make sure the Reolink device can be accessed from a remote network.

    Step 2 Ensure that the Reolink account used in Reolink App and Smart Home App is the same one. Reolink Account

    Step 3 Confirm that the camera can be detected in Google Home App.

    Step 4 Use correct voice commands. 

    Step 5 Name the camera in English without a number, for example, front door.

    Step 6 Reboot the camera and Third Party Smart Home Devices. 

    Step 7 Rebind Reolink Smart Home Skills in the Google Home App.

4. Request for the specific time (including the real-time in your time zone) and operation video of the voice command issued. Note: this point only applies to the inability to see streams via Google Home screen devices.
