Regular Reolink firmware updates ensure that you benefit from the latest features, security enhancements, and performance improvements. This guide will walk you through how to update firmware on Reolink cameras, NVRs, and hubs.
Applies to: All Reolink NVRs, Reolink Home Hubs, and Reolink cameras (excluding battery-powered cameras).
👉 Note: The Reolink App does not support manual firmware updates.
Before You Start
Step 1. Download the firmware:
Go to the Reolink Download Center to find the firmware you want to upgrade (ensure you select the correct model and hardware version for your devices).Â
Download and unzip the file, then locate the final firmware in .pak/.paks format (no need to unzip .pak/.paks file).
Step 2. Prepare the software side for firmware upgrade:
Reolink Client – Supported by all devices: Upgrade the Client to the latest version and download the firmware to your computer's desktop.
Reolink Web – Supported by web-accessible cameras and Reolink NVRs: Download the firmware to your computer's desktop.
Monitor – Supported only by Reolink NVRs: Backup the firmware to a USB drive.
Firmware Upgrade Methods on Different Software
Choose the appropriate platform based on your needs to upgrade the device.
Via Reolink Client

This software will be divided into 3 sections according to the different device connections. Click one section that matches your device connection.

Â1 - Upgrading the firmware of a standalone camera and Home Hub Series
Step 1. Log in to your standalone camera/Home Hub via Reolink Client. This step will be divided into 2 parts — To upgrade the firmware of a standalone camera and Home Hub Series. Select one part that matches your device.
âť¶ To upgrade the firmware of a standalone camera, clickto enter the System page. Then go to System > Maintenance > Firmware Update.
âť· To upgrade the firmware of Reolink Home Hub Series, click
 and Customize to enter the System page. Then go to System > Maintenance > Firmware Update.
Step 2. Click Browse, select the firmware file you've already downloaded on your computer's desktop.
Step 3. Click Reset Configuration (Optional) and then Upgrade.
Note: Checking the Reset Configuration option will clear most of the configurations (Note: recordings and Wi-Fi settings will not be cleared). If you're upgrading to a significantly newer firmware version, we recommend checking this option to ensure the new firmware is properly applied to your device.Step 4. Wait for the progress bar to complete. Once it shows Update Completed, the firmware update is complete.

Step 5. Go to Device > Info to confirm the firmware has been updated to the target version.

2 - Upgrading the firmware of a camera added to Home Hub Series
Step 1. Log in to your Home Hub via Reolink Client. Click
 to display the cameras, and click
next to the camera you want to upgrade. Then, go to System > Maintenance > Firmware Update.
Step 2. Click Browse, select the firmware file you've already downloaded on your computer's desktop.
Step 3. Click Reset Configuration (Optional) and then Upgrade.
Note: Checking the Reset Configuration option will clear most of the configurations (Note: recordings and Wi-Fi settings will not be cleared). If you're upgrading to a firmware version that is significantly newer, we recommend checking this option to ensure the new firmware is properly applied to your device.Step 4. Wait for the progress bar to complete. Once it shows Update Completed, the firmware update is complete.

Step 5. Go to Device > Info to confirm the firmware has been updated to the target version.

3 - Upgrading the NVR firmware
Step 1. Log in to your NVR via Reolink Client. Click
 and
to enter the System page.
Step 2. Go to System > Maintenance > Firmware Update.
Step 3. Click Browse under the NVR section, select the firmware file you've already downloaded on your computer's desktop. At the same time, you could also upgrade the added camera firmware on this page. Under the Camera section, click Channel Selection to choose the camera you want to upgrade and then click Browse to continue.
Note:Â For the NVR hardware version with Old UI, NVR firmware upgrades are only available on the Reolink Client when some cameras are added to the NVR with old UI. If you want to upgrade a camera added to the NVR with Old UI, refer to the Via Monitor (Reolink NVR with old UI) section via the monitor.Step 4. Click Reset Configuration (Optional) and then Upgrade.
Note: Checking the Reset Configuration option will clear most of the configurations (Note: recordings and Wi-Fi settings will not be cleared). If you're upgrading to a firmware version that is significantly newer, we recommend checking this option to ensure the new firmware is properly applied to your device.Step 5. Step 6. Go to System > Info to confirm the NVR firmware has been updated to the target version.
Note: The firmware of the camera added to the NVR can only be checked on the NVR monitor. Refer to How to Find out Camera Hardware/Firmware Version via Reolink NVR (New UI).-
Via Reolink Web browser
Step 1. Log in to the device through the web interface and click
to enter the device Settings page.
Step 2. Go to System > Maintenance > Firmware Update.
Step 3. Click Browse to select the firmware file you've already downloaded on your computer's desktop. Then click Reset Configuration (Optional) and then Upgrade.
Note: Checking the Reset Configuration option will clear most of the configurations (Note: recordings and Wi-Fi settings will not be cleared). If you're upgrading to a firmware version that is significantly newer, we recommend checking this option to ensure the new firmware is properly applied to your device.For NVR Series, new NVR hardware supports upgrading the firmware of cameras added to the NVR. The upgrade interface will list both the NVR and cameras, allowing you to select the appropriate channel to upgrade the camera firmware. For old NVR hardware, refer to the Via Monitor (Reolink NVR with old UI) section for upgrading via the monitor.
Step 4. Wait for the progress bar to complete. Once it shows Update Completed, the firmware update is complete.

Step 5. Confirm your device firmware has been updated to the target version.
If your device is a camera running as a standalone, go to Device > Info to check.
If your device is a Reolink NVR, go to System > Info to check.
Note: The firmware of the camera added to the NVR can only be checked on the NVR monitor. Refer to How to Find out Camera Hardware/Firmware Version via Reolink NVR (New UI). -
Via Monitor (Reolink NVR with New UI)
Step 1. Connect the monitor to the Reolink NVR via an |HDMI/VG cable. Insert the USB drive into the USB port on the NVR.
Step 2. Upgrade the firmware. This step will be divided into 2 parts — Upgrade NVR firmware and Upgrade Camera firmware. Select one part that matches your device.
âť¶ Upgrade NVR firmware: Click
and then go to System > Maintenance > Update.
âť· Upgrade Camera firmware: Click
and then go to Camera > Select the corresponding channel's camera > General > Firmware Update.
Step 3. Select the firmware downloded in the USB, click Restore to Default Settings (Optional), and then Upgrade.
Note: Checking the Restore to Default Settings option will clear most of the configurations (Note: recordings and Wi-Fi settings will not be cleared). If you're upgrading to a significantly newer firmware version, we recommend checking this option to ensure the new firmware is properly applied to your device.Step 4. Read the Notice and then click Continue.
Step 5. After rebooting, confirm your device firmware has been updated to the target version.
Check NVR firmware version: Clickand then go to System > Maintenance > Info.
Check camera firmware version: Click
and then go to Camera > Select the corresponding channel's camera > More Info.

Via Monitor (Reolink NVR with Old UI)

ÂStep 1. Connect the monitor to the Reolink NVR via an HDMI/VGA cable. Insert the USB drive into the USB port on the NVR.
Step 2. Navigate to Menu > System > Maintenance.
âť¶Â Upgrade NVR firmware: Click Upgrade From USB.
âť·Â Upgrade Camera firmware: Click Upgrade IPC From USB.
Step 3. Select the firmware downloded in the USB, click Update Configure File (Optional), and then Upgrade.
