Symptoms for RTSP/ONVIF/RTMP Not Working

When you try to add the Reolink camera to third-party software via RTSP, ONVIF, or RTMP, it will fail, which means RTSP, ONVIF, or RTMP connection failure.

  • If the camera is added to 3rd-party software in LAN, please ensure that the camera IP and the port you need to use (such as RTSP port 554) can be pinged via the tcping.
  • If the camera is added to 3rd-party software in WAN, make sure the camera port is forwarded on the router. How to Forward Ports on Router Interface for Reolink Products

4. Make sure the firmware version of your Reolink device is the latest. How to Manually Update Firmware for Reolink Devices

5. Confirm whether the camera encoding method is supported by third-party software. For example: ODM does not support playing H.265 video, so it is normal that the main stream of the camera 8MP and above cannot be previewed.

6. If multiple incorrect password attempts have been made, the system might lock you out due to suspected unauthorized access. Try turning off the Illegal Login Lockout and retry. How to Set up Illegal Login Lockout

7. Check if VLC has the same problem when streaming the camera. Note: if VLC has the same problem, provide video and packet capture data of VLC TCP connection.
