Applies to: Reolink battery-powered cameras

Problems: PIR alerts were triggered when there was nothing within the detecting area.

Cause1: The sensitivity of the PIR sensor was too high. Something like leaves and insects triggered the PIR alerts.

Solution1: Turn down the sensitivity of the PIR sensor.

Cause2: The camera was exposed to sunlight directly or installed in the ventilation port/heating port. The alerts were triggered by high temperatures.

Solution2:

①Use the camera at an appropriate temperature (0℃ to 45℃ is recommended).

②Do not install the camera facing any objects with bright lights, including sunshine, bright lamp lights, etc.

③Do not place the camera too close to the place where vehicles move frequently; 15 meters (55ft) away from the vehicle is the recommended distance.

④Stay away from outlets, including the air conditioner vents, humidifier outlets, the heat transfer vent of projectors, etc.

⑤Do not install the camera facing the mirror.

⑥Keep the camera at least 1 meter away from any wireless devices, including Wi-Fi routers and phones in order to avoid wireless interference.

Cause3: The battery level was low: false alerts may happen when the battery level was lower than 10%.

Solution3: Check the battery level, charge it, or contact Reolink support if it could not be charged.

Cause4: PIR sensor was broken.

Solution4: Put the camera in a drawer or an airtight box and see if the false alerts still exist. If yes, the PIR sensor could be defective. Please contact Reolink support for further assistance.
