Struggling with Reolink PIR delay? This common issue can cause lag in motion detection responses. Understanding and adjusting the PIR settings can help optimize your camera’s performance.
Applies to: Reolink battery-powered cameras.
Symptoms of Reolink PIR Delay
1. The camera starts recording only after the target is almost out of the frame.
2. Movement occurs in front of the camera, but sometimes you receive no alert push notifications, relevant recordings, or alert emails, and the siren doesn't sound.
3. PIR detection range is short.
Troubleshooting Steps for Fixing Reolink PIR Problems
1. Increase the camera’s PIR sensitivity.
Refer to How to Set up PIR Sensitivity via Reolink Software.
2. Ensure Detection Alarm settings are correct.
If your camera supports smart detection, ensure Smart Detection Sensitivity, Detection Zone, and Object Size settings are correctly configured. Refer to How to Set up Smart Detection for Battery-powered Cameras via Reolink App.
3. Ensure the alert settings are correct.
For instance, if the camera isn’t recording people or vehicles, verify that these are enabled in the recording schedule and that the timing is set appropriately: How to Set up Record Schedule for Reolink Cameras via Reolink App. Similarly, push notifications, email alerts, sirens, and FTP also have corresponding schedule settings. Ensure that each alert function you want to use is properly configured and scheduled.
4. PIR sensors have specific requirements for detection distance and angle.
Adjusting the camera’s installation angle, height, and distance can enhance performance. Refer to Reolink Camera Installation Tips.
