2. How to Configure Shortcuts on Reolink App
1. What is Shortcut
Shortcut is a scenario-based feature that lets you customize and switch between different alarm settings (Push, Recording, Siren, Email) for your devices.
For example:
- At Home: Turn off alarms to avoid unnecessary notifications.
- Away from Home: Enable all alarms for full monitoring.
With just one tap on the phone, the relevant settings will be applied to the selected cameras/NVRs.
2. How to Configure Shortcuts on Reolink App
Here is a video for your reference:
Step 1. Swipe down on the Home page and tap the Shortcuts configuration entry.
Tip: Try placing your finger on the top of the first camera listed in the Reolink App and swipe down gently. This will bring up the Shortcut settings section in the App rather than your phone’s system menu.
Step 2. Create a new Shortcut.
1. Name your Shortcut and choose an icon.
2. Select the devices you want this shortcut to control. Note: The camera connected to the Reolink NVR will not show as a stand-alone camera to set up separately. Only the Reolink NVR will show up on the Shortcut device list.
3. Set the alarm options:
- Push Notification
- Recording
- Audio Alarm
-
Email alert
(Blue = enabled, Grey = disabled)
4. Tap Save to complete the setup.
Step 3. Tap the created shortcut icon needed on the top of the Home page to activate it. If successful, you'll see a “Scene setup succeeded” message.
Note: To switch modes, just tap a different Shortcut. Shortcuts cannot be “paused” — they must be switched manually.
Step 4. Done! You can control the motion alerts of your cameras with a single tap now.
Note:
When you delete a Shortcut, the devices retain the current settings (e.g., if Audio Alarm was ON, it will remain ON). If you want to revert changes, create another Shortcut with your preferred settings and apply it manually. Or just change the camera settings on its settings page.
3. Special Notes for Usage
- Reolink Home Hub Devices
Reolink Home Hub series device and its connected devices (like Doorbell or camera) are not listed in the Shortcut device list.
To control them, use Scene Modes within the Home Hub settings instead. Refer to Introduction to Scene Mode for Reolink Home Hub
- Reolink NVRs and Connected Cameras
1. When you apply a Shortcut involving an NVR, only the NVR’s own settings will change. Cameras connected under the NVR won’t change their settings automatically — their alarms must be configured manually.
2. Enabling Audio Alarm on the NVR triggers the NVR’s own beep sound when the camera detect the alarm as scheduled.
If you want cameras under the NVR to sound their own siren, make sure to enable the siren in each camera’s settings (found at the bottom of the camera’s configuration page).
Example:
If the shortcut enables the Audio Alarm feature of the NVR, you will find the Buzzer option is on when the shortcut is activated (left).
You need to make sure the camera under the Buzzer page has been enabled and its schedule has been set up properly according to your requirements. The screenshot on the right means the NVR will make a beep sound only when the D340P camera detects the alarm.
Also, if you need the camera itself to make a sound, make sure the camera's siren has been enabled on its own settings page.
Reolink Shortcuts help streamline your security management by allowing you to quickly switch between customized alarm settings for different scenarios. While powerful and convenient, please be mindful of device limitations — especially for NVRs— and always double-check that all desired devices are properly configured.
