Updating the firmware of your Reolink device is essential to ensure optimal performance and security. To enhance user experience, we've simplified the firmware upgrade process with our online upgrade feature. This article will guide you on how to keep your Reolink device firmware up-to-date.
Applies to: All Reolink NVRs, Reolink Home Hubs, and cameras, except add-on cameras in NVR kits, cameras with hardware version IPC_513/515/517/3816/325C7, and NVRs with hardware version H3MB02/H3MB06/H3MB16.
Upgrade your device online through the Reolink App, Client, and NVR when it is connected to the Internet. The Reolink App and Client can either notify you automatically when a new firmware version is available or allow you to manually check for upgrades.
Automatic Firmware Update Prompt
When a new firmware version is available for your camera, the Reolink Client and App will automatically detect it and display an upgrade prompt upon launch. You can click Update to start it directly from this prompt without navigating to the settings page. After clicking Upgrade, the device will download and install the new firmware automatically. Do not disconnect power or network during the process.
The screenshots below are from the Reolink Client for reference only. The actual interface and content may vary.
If no pop-up appears when you open the Client, it means no new firmware has been detected for your devices. We recommend checking for updates manually by following the steps below.
Manual Check for Upgrades — Step-by-Step Guide
If the update prompt does not appear, or if you dismissed it and want to check later, follow these steps to manually check and initiate an online firmware upgrade.
Note: Ensure all the devices, including the Reolink NVR/camera/Home Hub and the end-user devices running the Reolink software (computer, phone, Reolink NVR, etc.) have a stable Internet connection.

Important Notes for Online Reolink Firmware Upgrade
1. Web browser and Reolink NVR (old UI) do not support online firmware upgrades.
2. If you need to upgrade the firmware for the device that does not support online upgrades, or if you failed to upgrade the firmware online, you may download the latest firmware file and upgrade it manually. Refer to How to Manually Update Firmware for Reolink Devices.
3. When upgrading online for all Reolink plug-in devices (such as plug-in cameras, NVRs, Home Hubs, etc.), if the page prompts "This is the most current version available" after you click Update Manually on the Reolink software, you can check the Reolink Download Center to double-confirm if the latest firmware matches your current version. If you cannot find the firmware for a specific device in the Download Center, refer to Reasons for Missing Firmware in Reolink Download Center.
