This article explains how to configure the recording schedule for videos stored on a microSD card using the Reolink web browser. You can customize when the camera records based on your recording needs. You may follow the steps below to quickly set up or change the recording schedule for your camera on the Reolink web browser.

Applies to: All Reolink cameras except battery-powered cameras, Reolink E1, Reolink E1 Pro, and Reolink Lumus, and the add-on cameras in the NVR Kit. For details of the models that can be accessed via web browsers, refer to Which Reolink Devices Can Be Accessed via Web Browsers.

Reolink Camera features vary depending on the firmware and hardware versions. Based on Smart Detection support, cameras are divided into two types:

  • Reolink Cameras that Support Smart Detection. You can configure the schedule for different detection types on these cameras.
  • Reolink Cameras that Do Not Support Smart Detection. The detection types are not available, and the schedule can only be configured for Motion Detection when you set the Event-Triggered schedule.

Follow Which Camera Supports Smart Detection and Which NVR Supports Smart Detection to check the compatibility. Choose the option that matches your cameras. 

  • For Cameras that Support Smart Detection

    Step 1. Log in to your NVR via a web browser. Then click the gear.png gear icon on the top right corner.

    Step 2. Click Surveillance > Record. Turn on Enable Record.

    Step 3. Click Alarm to set up Event-Triggered Recording. You can select detection types by ticking the checkbox to enable Any Motion/Person/Vehicle/Animal motion recording according to your needs.

    Select Enable/Disable, then click and drag on the grid to turn it blue/grey. The blue grid means Alarm recording at this hour is enabled, while grey means disabled.

    Then click Save.

    Step 4. Click Timer to set up Continuous Recording Schedule.

    Select Enable/Disable, then click and drag on the grid to turn it blue/grey. The blue grid means Alarm recording at this hour is enabled, while grey means disabled.

  • Cameras that Do Not Support Smart Detection

    Step 1. Log in to your NVR via a web browser. Then click the gear.png gear icon in the top right corner.

    Step 2. Click Surveillance > Record. Turn on Enable Record.

    Step 3. Click the Motion(alarm recording)/Timer(continuous recording)/None(no recording) button, and then click on the grids to enable/disable different recordings for that hour. They are blue, yellow, and grey respectively.

    Step 4. Click the Save button in the bottom right corner if you finish setting.

  • Web Interface with Old Version

    If the web interface of your camera is an old version, you can refer to the steps below. 

    Step 1. Log in to your camera via a web browser and go to the device settings page. 

    Step 2. Click on the grids to set the schedule as you need, then click OK to save the settings. One grid means one hour.

    Notes:

    1. The Overwrite button is ticked by default, and under this mode, the new recordings will cover the old videos automatically if the micro SD card is full.

    2. If you want to extend the record time after the motion events happened, you can choose the Post-Record button to set the time.

    3. The green or blue grid means that the device will record to a micro SD card when motions are detected, while the white or grey one means “don’t record”.

    4. The recording schedule of C1, C2, C1 Pro, C2 Pro, and cameras that are connected to NVR could be set as continuous recording, while other devices start to record only when motions are detected.
