There are two kinds of PIR sensors: the analog PIR sensor and the digital PIR sensor.

Digital PIR sensors are much more sensitive and immune to false triggers.

There are three levels of PIR sensitivities: low, mid, and high. Each level has a corresponding PIR detecting distance or PIR detecting range. For different objects, there are also different detecting distances.

Applies to: All Reolink battery-powered cameras.

For analog PIR (Argus 2, Argus Pro), you can refer to the below table for the detecting distance.

Sensitivity

Detection Distance (for moving and living things)

Detection Distance (for moving vehicles)
Low Up to 4 meters (13ft) Up to 10 meters (33ft)
Mid Up to 6 meters (20ft) Up to 12 meters (40ft)
High Up to 9 meters (30ft) Up to 15 meters (50ft)

For digital PIR (Argus 2, Argus Eco, Argus 2E, Argus 3, Argus 3 Pro, Argus PT, Go, Go PT, Go Plus, Go PT Plus, Reolink Keen Ranger PT, Lumus), you can refer to the below table for the detecting distance.

Sensitivity Value

Detection Distance (for moving and living things)

Detection Distance (for moving vehicles)
Low 0-50 Up to 5 meters (16ft) Up to 10 meters(33ft)
Mid 51-80 Up to 8 meters (26ft) Up to 12 meters(40ft)
High 81-100 Up to 10 meters (33ft) Up to 15 meters(50ft)
Note: The type of PIR sensor (analog or digital) built in Argus 2 may vary, depending on the production time of the camera.

The actual detection distance also depends on the mounting height and angle of your cameras in actual use. You may refer to this article for more details: Installation Tips for Reolink Battery-Powered Cameras.
