For Reolink Home Hub Pro, which comes with a 2TB HDD, it supports the installation of one HDD up to 16TB. We primarily recommend the above HDDs that have been tested. If you wish to use other models, choose Enterprise or Surveillance-level hard drives, and ensure the storage capacity is supported by your NVR/Home Hub Pro. Notebooks or home office-grade hard drives may experience poor performance and compatibility issues with NVRs.
For Reolink NVRs that support external HDDs, to connect an external hard drive, you’ll need to provide power and connect it to the NVR’s eSATA port (Note: Do not connect the external hard drive via the NVR’s USB port). There are two common options:
A hard drive enclosure (no specific specs required, as long as it supports the HDD size and uses the eSATA interface).
An eSATA data cable (to connect the HDD to the NVR) along with a power cable (to supply power to the HDD).
