Turn light on/off:
"Alexa, turn on/off the Light Door (Floodlight's name)."Adjust brightness:
"Alexa, set the Light Door (Floodlight's name)'s brightness to X%."Change color:
"Alexa, change the Light Door (Floodlight's name)'s color to X."
Controlling Lighting with Alexa Routines
Alexa allows you to create routines to automate various actions, including controlling the lights. You can use this feature to link your camera's floodlight with custom voice commands or even trigger lighting based on motion detection. For example, you can set up a voice command to turn on the light at a specific brightness and color, or have it activate when a person is detected. Below, we’ll walk through how to set up a routine that allows you to control the floodlight via voice command.
In the Alexa App Floodlight menu, tap Create a Routine > Your Routines. Tap the "+" icon to create a new routine, set Trigger and Action:
Add an event to When: Select Voice, set a trigger phrase (e.g.,"Alarm, leave away"), tap Next.
Add an action to Alexa WILL: Select Smart Home > Lights > Floodlight, then tap Next, set floodlight on/off, light brightness and color temperature, tap Next. Save the settings.
Once set, you can control the Floodlight by simply saying your custom voice command to the Alexa device, like “Alarm, leave away”, to activate the light with your chosen settings.
Note: If you want to set the light to turn on when a motion is detected, you’ll need to not only configure the routine but also go to the Alexa App Device List, enter camera's Settings. Be sure to enable Person Detection Announcements.
Enable/Disable and Remove the Floodlight
Tap the settings icon (top-right):
Enable/Disable the Floodlight:
Floodlight only works when enabled. If the Floodlight is disabled, toggling it on in the main menu will have no effect, and it won’t respond to routines or voice commands.Remove the Floodlight:
To remove the Floodlight, tap the trash can icon in the upper right corner. Note: This removes the device from all routines and groups.
By following these steps, you can easily control your Reolink Floodlight via the Alexa App, whether you want to adjust the brightness or color temperature, and create motion detection or custom voice-controlled routines with your Alexa device. Alexa makes it simple to automate your Floodlight settings and integrate them into your smart home.
