If you're not receiving notifications on your locked Android screen when someone rings your doorbell, there are a few settings you can check to resolve the situation. Follow these steps to make sure doorbell call notifications are working properly. (Note: The settings interface may vary slightly depending on the phone brand, so refer to your actual phone's page for guidance.)
Applies to: All Reolink Video Doorbell cameras.
1. Enable Full-Screen Notifications
For Android 14 and above, you need to grant your Reolink App full-screen alerts permissions. This ensures that notifications show properly even when the phone is locked.
Go to Phone Settings > Full screen alerts > Grant Reolink App full-screen alerts permission.
2. Disable Battery Optimization
Android's battery optimization can prevent notifications from being delivered when your phone is idle. Allow Reolink App to use the battery in the background without restrictions.
Go to Reolink App info > Battery > Select Unrestricted.
3. Lock Screen Notifications
Ensure that your phone is set to show content on the lock screen:
Go to Reolink App info > Notifications > Notification categories.
Find the doorbell > tap Lock screen > Select Show content for lock screen notifications.
4. Brand-Specific Settings
Some phone brands have additional settings that might block locked screen call notification.
-
Samsung
Go to Phone Settings > Notifications > Advanced settings > Enable Manage notification categories for each app.
-
Vivo
Allow Floating window, Display on lock screen, Background pop-ups permissions under Phone Settings > More Settings > Permission management > Reolink App > Single permission settings.
-
Xiaomi
Enable Show on Lock screen and Display pop-up windows while running in the background under Phone Settings > Reolink App info > other permissions. Refer to: App Info - Permissions, Notifications and other Settings, App Information | Xiaomi Community.
By following these steps, you should be able to receive doorbell call notifications on your Android locked screen. If the situation persists, click "Submit a request" below to contact Support and provide details of the settings adjustments you've made.
