This article introduces the bandwidth required for Live View, FTP Uploading, Email Alerts and Push Notifications for Reolink IP cameras.
Applies to: All Reolink IP cameras (Reolink battery-powered cameras, E1, E1 pro, E1 zoom, B400, D400, B800, D800, and cameras connected to Reolink NVRs excluded).
1. Bandwidth for Live View
If you choose Clear mode, then the bandwidth is the same as the Bitrate under clear mode.
If you choose Fluent Type, then the bandwidth is the same as the Bitrate under fluent mode.
In Clear mode: the maximum Bitrate is 8192 kbps
In Fluent mode: the maximum Bitrate is 512 kbps
You may change the bitrate and set the stream mode to view the cameras.
2. Bandwidth for FTP Uploading
In Clear mode: the maximum Bitrate is 8192 kbps
In Fluent mode: the maximum Bitrate is 512 kbps
You may set up the upload video resolution according to your needs.
3. Bandwidth for Email Alerts
The bandwidth for email notifications is not very high. You can choose to attach text, a picture, text & pictures, or text & video to the email alerts. If you set the email notification to attach text & video, the required bandwidth is about 1.6kbps (for cameras with hardware IPC_515/513).
You can set up the email attachment here.
4. Bandwidth for Push Notifications
Bandwidth for push notifications can be ignored, as the push file is very small (less than 1KB) so it takes up a very small amount of bandwidth.
If you have the camera upload the clear video (maximum bitrate) to the FTP server, view the clear video (maximum bitrate) on Reolink App at the same time, and have enabled the email notification with a video attached, the total bandwidth needed would be: 8192+8192+1.6=16385.6kbps, approximately 16Mbps.
