If the Reolink camera stops working, you may follow the troubleshooting tips listed below to solve the problems.

Symptoms for Reolink Cameras Not Powering on

For the camera with a status light, when you power the camera on, the status light is not on.

For the camera without a status light, when you power the camera on and cover the daylight sensor with your hand or put the camera in a dark place, the IR light/spotlight is not on. 

Troubleshooting for Reolink Camera Won't Turn on

  • Reolink Plug-in Camera

    1. Please make sure you use compliant PoE power supply equipment or DC adapters. If you are not sure, you can check the of specifications page of your camera to find the requirements. Please note the RLN36 and RLN12W do not have the PoE function. 

    2. Please ensure that the installation location is not at the drain or other places where water is easy to accumulate. If your camera is one that needs to be mounted upside down, please make sure you install it correctly. Please refer to: How to Install Reolink Cameras  

    3. Please reset the camera, then check if the IR lights/status lights/spotlight can turn on. Please refer to: How to Hard Reset Device by Pressing the Reset Button

    4. Please change other compatible power supply devices to see if it helps. Including but not limited to: DC (adapter, socket), transformer, PoE (switch, Ethernet cable, Ethernet port, NVR, injector).

  • Reolink Battery-Powered camera

    1. Please use another adapter to charge the camera for several hours then reset the camera to see if there is any voice prompt or beep sound. Please refer to: How to Hard Reset Device by Pressing the Reset Button

    2. Please ensure that the installation location is not at the drain or other places where water is easy to accumulate. For inverted cameras, please confirm that the camera is installed in an inverted manner.

    3. Please flip the power switch again or plug and unplug the battery.

    4. Mount the camera correctly: How to Install Reolink Cameras. Some cameras need to be mounted upside down, while some cameras (such as the Argus Track) cannot be mounted upside down, otherwise it will compromise the waterproofing of the camera.
