Applies to: All Reolink IP cameras excecpt battery-powered ones

There're several possible causes for failing to power Reolink IP cameras. You may follow the troubleshooting tips listed below to solve the problem.

Cause 1. Defective power supply

Solution: If your camera is powered by a DC adapter, please use a properly-functioning power supply and outlet to see if works.

For E series, C series and Lumus, please use 5V/2A power adapter.

For other wireless and PoE IP cameras, please use 12V/1A power adapter.

For RLC-423 series, please use 12V/2A power adapter.

Cause 2. Incompatible or defective POE Injector/Switch

If your PoE camera is powered via the POE port of a POE NVR/switch, please try the following steps:

  • Please make sure you use the correct PoE injector/switch.

For RLC-423 series, please make sure that the PoE injector/switch is 802.3at compliant (48V) and supports active mode.

For other Reolink PoE camera models, please make sure that the PoE injector/switch is 802.3af compliant (48V) and supports active mode.

  • Please use another Ethernet cable and try a different port on the POE NVR/injector/switch.
  • If the problem persists, please power the camera via DC adapter to see if it works.

Cause 3. Defective camera hardware

Solution: Cover the day/night sensor or place the camera in a dark environment to see whether the Infrared lights will turn on or whether you can hear a click sound. If not, please reset the camera to default factory settings and try again.
