If you keep hearing the repeated Ding sound or "Please run Reolink App, add the camera and set it up" instead of moving on to the next step when setting up cameras, it means the camera has failed to recognize the QR code on your phone.

Note: If you hear the "QR code doesn't match" prompt, please make sure you didn't scan the other camera's QR code to set up the current camera. Especially for Argus (the old generation) camera, please make sure you didn't mix up different cameras' rear covers, and please click Camera Prompts "QR code does not match" Voice or No Voice After Scanning the QR Code on the APP to troubleshoot.

There are several possible causes for the problem:

Cause 1. The camera lens is dirty and unable to get a clear image of the QR code.

Solution: Wipe the camera lens with a dry paper towel/tissue. For the initial setup, you may remove the protective tape on the lens.

Cause 2. Your phone is too near or too far away from the camera.

Solution: Adjust the angle and the distance to make sure that your phone screen is 90° vertical to the camera at about 20cm (8 inches) away.

Note: For Argus Eco and Argus PT, make sure your phone screen is 90° vertical to the camera at about 30cm (12 inches) away.

Cause 3. The WiFi SSID and password are too long.

Solution: The WiFi SSID and password should be between 1~31 characters. Please make sure they don't include special characters, like &<>.

Cause 4. The light is too dim for the camera to recognize the QR code.

Solution: Scan the QR code on the phone’s screen where there's enough illumination and adjust your phone screen to about 50% brightness.

Cause 5. The QR code is too small for the camera to scan.

Solution: Tap the QR code generated on the phone to enlarge it or try to use a phone with a screen larger than 4 inches.

Cause 6. Reolink App is set to use the dark mode.

Solution: Sometimes, the QR code generated on the App will be messed up if the app is set in dark mode. Please turn off the dark mode on the App.
