If you want your Reolink devices to run the latest firmware, please follow the steps below to enable Auto Upgrade function for it so that when there is firmware released.

Applies to: All Reolink battery-powered cameras, Wi-Fi/PoE cameras with smart detection, Reolink NVRs, Reolink Home Hubs.

With Auto Update enabled, when a new firmware version is released online, the device will automatically upgrade to the new firmware once it detects the update. Since firmware versions are rolled out gradually, if the device does not detect the new firmware, it will show "This is the latest version available" when you tap Update Manually. If needed, you can check for the latest firmware at the Reolink Download Center. (For battery-powered cameras, click "Submit a Request" below to contact Reolink Support if you need help verifying the firmware version.) Below are the steps to enable this feature in the Reolink App and Client.

  • Via Reolink App

    Upgrade the Reolink App to the latest version and then log in to your device on the Reolink App on your cellphone.

    Step 1. Access the Administration page. This step will be divided into 3 parts — For the standalone camera, For Reolink NVR or Home Hub, For Reolink camera added to Home Hub. Select one part that matches your device connection.

    Part 1. For the standalone camera, tap the gear.png icon > Administration.

    Part 2. For Reolink NVR or Home Hub, tap NVR >  gear.png icon > Administration.

    Part 3. For Reolink camera added to Home Hub, tap the gear.png icon next to the camera > Administration.

    Step 2. Tap Update Device > Auto Update.

    Note: If you have added your camera to the Reolink NVR, you will not be able to enable the Auto Update on the Reolink App. Instead, go to the NVR monitor to enable it.

  • Via Reolink Client

    Before the settings, make sure you have downloaded and installed Reolink Client on your PC. Log in to your device on the Reolink Client. It will be divided into 4 parts:

    Part 1. For the standalone camera

    Click the gear icon > System > Maintenance > Firmware Update > Enable Auto Update.

    Part 2. For Reolink NVR

    Click nvr setting icon > gear icon > System > Maintenance > Firmware Update > Enable Auto Update.

    Note: If you have added your camera to the Reolink NVR, you will not be able to enable the Auto Update on the Reolink Client. Instead, go to the NVR monitor to enable it.

    Part 3. For Reolink Home Hub 

    Click nvr setting.png icon > Customize > System > Maintenance > Firmware Update > Enable Auto Update.

    Part 4. For cameras added to Home Hub

    Click expand to expand the cameras. Then click the gear icon next to the camera > System > Maintenance > Firmware Update > Enable Auto Update.

  • Via Reolink NVR (New UI)

    Applies to: RLN8-410 (hardware version NVR_NNT3NA78P / N7MB01 / N3MB01 / N2MB02 / H3MB18), RLN16-410 (hardware version NVR_NNT4NA716P / N6MB01 / H3MB18), RLN4E, RLN36, RLN12W, NVS4E, NVS8, NVS12W, NVS16, NVS36, RP-PN8, RP-PN16, RP-N64.

    Step 1. Connect your Reolink NVR to a monitor via HDMI/VGA.

    Step 2. Log in to your Reolink NVR on the monitor. Right-click on the screen and then click the gear settings button to access the NVR Settings Page

    Step 3. Enable Auto Update for NVR: navigate to System > Maintenance > Enable Auto Update.

    Enable Auto Update for camera: navigate to Camera > Select the corresponding channel's camera > General > Firmware Update > Enable Auto Update.

Note: It is not supported to enable/disable auto update on the web and NVR (old UI).
