Notes:
- If your camera is an AI model, please use the Reolink protocol to add the camera (When selecting a camera model, it does not have to be consistent with your camera, you can choose any camera model that supports AI functions) in order to use the AI feature.
- If your camera supports PTZ function, please use the Reolink protocol to add the camera and select the camera model which supports PTZ function, like RLC-423 or RLC-823A, then you can use the PTZ function with your camera.
- If you want to be notified by Synology when someone press the doorbell (visitor alert), you can add the doorbell camera to Synology using the Reolink protocol.
Specific cameras
For adding Reolink Duo WiFi/Duo PoE, TrackMix WiFi/TrackMix PoE to Synology, due to the unique nature of these two models, each equipped with dual lenses, the method for adding them is slightly different.
-
Reolink Duo WiFi/Duo PoE
Adding Duo WiFi/Duo PoE camera, please use the Reolink protocol to add the camera twice, only need to modify the left and right channels while adding the camera. If you use ONVIF protocol to add Duo WiFi/Duo PoE camera, channel 1 is added by default, and does not support adding the second channel (unless you use the Reolink protocol to add the second channel) or modification of the left and right channels.Or you can modify the channel after adding the camera. -
Reolink TrackMix WiFi/TrackMix PoE
Method 1. With ONVIF or Reolink protocol, the camera defaults to displaying the wide-angle lens.
By switching to Stream 3, you can view the tracking stream. Selecting the video format as H.265 and choosing Stream Profile 3 (i.e., H.265+Stream 3) allows you to switch to the tracking stream. At this point, the video resolution will be displayed as 1920*1080.
If your Synology cannot find the Stream 3 option, we recommend the second method.
Method 2. First, add the wide-angle lens using the ONVIF or Reolink protocol. Then, add the tracking lens using the RTSP protocol. Using this approach will consume two licenses.
The URL for tracking lens is: rtsp://username:password@IP address/Preview_02_main
Method 3. If the Synology Surveillance Station is upgraded to Synology DS1618+
DSM version 7.1.1-42962 Update 5 or above, you can add two lenses using the Reolink protocol. Using this approach will consume two licenses.Wide lens: Video Channel=Normal
Tracking lens: Video Channel=Auto Track
