There are 3 methods to add cameras to Synology.

Applies to: All Reolink NVRs and cameras except all battery-powered cameras, E1 and Lumus.

Note: TrackMix Wired LTE can only support this feature when using wired connection.

Note: Reolink battery-powered cameras are not compatible with third-party software such as Synology Surveillance Station and NAS. Please refer to Why Reolink Battery-Powered Cameras Cannot Work with 3rd-Party Software.

Before getting started, login to your device on the Reolink Client, go to Device Settings > Network > Advanced > Server settings to open relevant ports for the device. After opening the ports, do not forget to Save your configurations.

Notes:

  • If your camera is an AI model, please use the Reolink protocol to add the camera (When selecting a camera model, it does not have to be consistent with your camera, you can choose any camera model that supports AI functions) in order to use the AI feature.
  • If your camera supports PTZ function, please use the Reolink protocol to add the camera and select the camera model which supports PTZ function, like RLC-423 or RLC-823A, then you can use the PTZ function with your camera.
  • If you want to be notified by Synology when someone press the doorbell (visitor alert), you can add the doorbell camera to Synology using the Reolink protocol.
  • Adding Duo WiFi/Duo PoE camera, please use the Reolink protocol to add the camera twice, only need to modify the left and right channels while adding the camera. If you use ONVIF protocol to add Duo WiFi/Duo PoE camera, channel 1 is added by default, and does not support adding the second channel (unless you use the Reolink protocol to add the second channel) or modification of the left and right channels. duo_1.pngduo_2.pngduo_3.pngOr you can modify the channel after adding the camera. duo_4.pngduo_5.png
