Reolink introduces a new Wi-Fi connection method during initialization — via Bluetooth. This method is particularly useful when lighting conditions make it challenging for cameras to capture QR codes clearly. This article guides you through the process of configuring Wi-Fi connection via Bluetooth.
Applies to: Argus 4, Argus Series B740, Argus 4 Pro, Argus Series B740X, Reolink Altas, Reolink Altas PT, Reolink Altas PT Ultra, Argus PT Ultra(BIPC_ NT2BNO28MPW4SD15V5), ReolinkTrackMix(BIPC_NT2BNO38MPW4SD7V6), Reolink E1 Outdoor CX, E1 Pro(IPC_NT1NA45MP), E1 Zoom(IPC_NT14NA48MPSD6), Lumus Pro, Lumus Series E450, Reolink Elite WiFi, Elite Floodlight WiFi.
Note: The Reolink Client does not support configuring cameras via Bluetooth. If you’d like to preview and manage your camera on the Reolink Client, you must first complete the configuration using the Reolink App, and then add the camera to the Reolink Client. For details on adding a camera to the Reolink Client, refer to: How to Add Cameras or NVRs by UID via Reolink Client (New Client)

Step-by-Step Reolink Camera Setup via Bluetooth
Step 1. Power on the Camera
-
For battery-powered cameras: Switch on the camera.
-
For Plug-in cameras: Power on the camera using the included adapter.
Wait until the camera starts up and you hear the multilingual voice prompt: "Welcome to Reolink. Please install the Reolink App and scan the QR code on the camera."
Step 2. Initialize and Pair the Camera
Note: The example below is based on Reolink Altas. The on-screen prompts may vary slightly by model. Please follow the instructions shown on your device.
1. Tap the “+” icon in the top-right corner to start the setup.
2. Scan the square QR code on the camera. Alternatively, tap Input UID/IP and manually enter the UID (a 16-character code starting with “9527” located under the QR code). Then tap Next.
3. Select Configure Wi-Fi via Bluetooth.
4. Ensure the camera is powered on, then tap Next. If you hear voice prompts from the camera, tick the box accordingly and tap Next.
5. Grant required permissions:
-
iPhone: If Bluetooth access is not enabled, you’ll see the message: “Unable to connect, please allow Reolink to use your Bluetooth.” Go to iPhone Settings > Apps > Reolink, enable Bluetooth permissions for the Reolink App, and make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
-
Android: Devices running Android 12 or above must allow "Precise Location" and "Find and connect nearby devices" permissions.
Once granted, the Reolink App will automatically search for and connect to your device via Bluetooth.
6. After a successful Bluetooth connection, enter the Wi-Fi name and Wi-Fi password for the camera.
Step 3. Complete the Initialization
When you see the Device Initialization page, it means the camera has successfully connected to Wi-Fi.
1. Create a login password for the camera, then tap Next.
(Note: The default username is admin and cannot be changed.)
2. Assign a name to your camera.
Once initialization is complete, you can choose to save the device QR code to your album for future sharing with others and start using the camera.
