If you’re experiencing a black live view page on your Reolink NVR after connecting a camera to Reolink NVR, and you can only see the live view icons or the camera is black in full-screen mode, follow this guide to troubleshoot the issue.

Cause 1. Outdated NVR Firmware.

Solution: Visit Download Center – Reolink to find the latest firmware for your NVR and manually upgrade it following the instructions provided in How to Upgrade Firmware via Reolink NVR (New UI).

Cause 2. Improper Camera Resolution.

Solution: Lower the resolution of the camera to match the decoding width of the NVR and see if its image can be loaded or not. Refer to: How to Set up the Encode Settings Via Reolink PoE NVR /  How to Set up the Quality Settings Via Reolink NVR (New UI).

Cause 3. Incompatible Hardware Version.

Solution: Gather the system information for both the camera and the NVR. Contact the Reolink Support Team and provide them with the info for further assistance.

To find the system information, refer to How to Find out System Information via Reolink PoE NVR / How to Find out System Information via Reolink NVR (New UI).

By following these steps, you can diagnose and potentially resolve the issue of a black live view page on your Reolink NVR.

If you encounter any issues during this process or have questions, don’t hesitate to contact  Reolink Support Team via email.
