  • 1. How do I get the full functionality out of my OMVI 2i Ultra? What should I do if I only see one lens view, can't use PTZ, or SyncTrack isn't working?

To ensure all features work properly:

    Standalone Use:

The OMVI 2i Ultra's Auto Framing feature digitally zooms in on the PTZ camera's view; therefore, preview and playback displays only the zoomed-in view, without the original and unzoomed view. Auto Framing feature can be used in Reolink App version 4.64 or later, which is expected to be released in late October.

    Connecting to Reolink Home Hub:

    • Home Hub: Firmware version v3.3.0.601_26082941 / v3.3.0.601_26082942 or later.
    • Home Hub Mini: Firmware version v3.3.0.609 26092101 or later.
    • Home Hub Pro: Firmware version v3.3.0.605_26090342 / v3.3.0.605_26090343 or later.

    Connecting to a Reolink NVR:

    • Requires NVR hardware compatibility and firmware v3.6.5 or later.
    • On an NVR running firmware v3.6.5, SyncTrack and Pinpoint work as expected, but Auto Framing does not take effect. Auto Framing support on NVRs is scheduled for firmware version v4.0, and the firmware is expected to be released in November.

If you need further help after updating all software and firmware, please contact Reolink Support for assistance.

  • 2. How to properly enable the SyncTrack & PinPoint Control?

To ensure SyncTrack and PinPoint work properly, you must run PTZ calibration once after outdoor installation. Tap "Calibration" under the PTZ menu, and the camera will begin the calibration process. Please refer to: Introduction to Reolink Camera Calibration.

  • 3. What are the battery and charging requirements?

    Battery

    • Capacity: Removable 10,000mAh battery pack (RLA-BP2).
    • Battery Life: Up to 6 months on a full charge, based on 5 minutes of recording per day and all-day standby. Actual battery life varies depending on usage and environmental conditions.
    • Compatibility: Only the RLA-BP2 battery pack is supported. Battery packs from other brands are not compatible.
    • Replacement: The RLA-BP2 battery pack can be purchased separately and is expected to be available in December.

    Charging

    • Power Requirements: Use a DC 5V/2A power adapter and the included USB-A to USB-C cable to charge the camera.
    • Charging Time: Approximately 11 hours to fully charge the battery from empty at room temperature.
    • Battery Charging LED: Orange means charging; green means fully charged.

Note: A battery must be installed for the camera to operate. The camera cannot be powered by a power adapter alone.

  • 4. How do I install the battery?

Use a #2 Phillips screwdriver (not included) to open the battery cover, check the battery orientation, insert the battery pack and secure the cover screw.

  • 5. Is the solar panel built into the camera? How do I install it?

No. The 6W Reolink SolarEase™ solar panel is an external accessory; it is not built into the camera body. It delivers up to 26% photoelectric conversion efficiency and supports low-light charging at illuminance as low as 1000 lux.

Separate installation: Use a solar panel extension cable to position the panel in full sunlight without blocking either camera view.

Integrated installation: Fit the solar panel bracket to the camera bracket with the short screws, attach the panel and adjust its position.

  • 6. Can the upper lens move automatically or through Reolink software?

No. The upper lens is manually adjustable only.

    • Upper camera: 8MP 4K wide-angle lens with a 130° diagonal field of view, manually adjustable to cover a fixed area.
    • Lower camera: 5MP 3K telephoto pan-tilt lens that pans 355° and tilts 55° for moving targets and details.

  • 7. Does the OMVI 2i Ultra support Image Mirroring? Can I change the resolution?

Image Mirroring: Yes. One switch mirrors both lenses at the same time. Only horizontal mirroring is supported; vertical mirroring is not supported.

Resolution: No. The resolution cannot be changed.

  • 8. The camera won't power on. How do I tell whether the battery or the camera is the reason?

Connect the camera to a power adapter and watch the status light:

    • Battery reason: The status light comes on for a few seconds and then goes off.
    • Camera reason: The status light does not come on at all.

If you need further help, please contact Reolink Support for assistance.
