When your Reolink Floodlight device (an IoT device) starts blinking unexpectedly, it may indicate a variety of issues. This guide will walk you through several steps to diagnose and resolve the Floodlight blinking problem.

Applies to: Reolink Floodlight WiFi, and Floodlight PoE.

Symptoms on Floodlight Blinking

The Floodlight device flashes randomly or flickers after staying on for a while.

Troubleshooting Steps on Floodlight Blinking

1. Check the power supply.

  • Floodlight PoE
    1. Make sure you're using compliant PoE power supply equipment or DC 12V/2A adapters.
    2. Try using a different power method. If the Floodlight is currently powered via PoE, switch to using a DC adapter for testing.
  • Floodlight WiFi
    1. Ensure you're using the original power adapter to power it. If you've connected a power extension cable, try disconnecting it to see if this improves the thing.
    2. Switch to another working power adapter and power outlet for a test.

2. Adjust Floodlight angle.

Sometimes, an improper installation angle will cause the Floodlight blinking issue. Please adjust the angle of the Floodlight to ensure it does not obstruct the CDS (Cadmium Sulfide) sensor.

If the above suggestions don't work, please contact Reolink Support Team and provide the following information for further guidance:

  • A video showing the Floodlight blinking issue.
  • Details of the troubleshooting steps you've already taken and their results.
  • The Floodlight device system info page.

By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and hopefully resolve the flashing issue with your IoT Floodlight device. If the problem persists, don't hesitate to contact Support for personalized guidance.
