This article guides you on how to reset your Reolink Argus PT series camera. Scroll down and follow the steps below.

Applies to: Argus PT, Argus PT 2K, Argus PT Lite, Argus Series B420, Argus PT Ultra, Argus Series B440

Depending on the camera model and hardware version, the reset method may vary. Some cameras are reset by pressing the reset hole with a pin (Left image), while others are reset by pressing and holding the power button (Right image), as shown in the figure below.

Select the correct reset method based on your camera’s reset design (reset hole or power button).

Reset Using the Reset Hole

Step 1. Power on the camera. Open the rubber cover on the camera body. Turn ON the power switch button to power the camera. (If your camera is powered on, you can skip this step.)

Step 2. Rotate the camera lens, and open the rubber cover to find the reset hole (next to the micro SD card slot). And then insert the reset needle into the reset hole of your camera.

Step 3. Press the reset hole and hold for about 5-10 seconds until you hear a kind of tone sound/short music from this camera, then release the reset button.

Step 4. Press back all the rubber covers firmly.

Reset Using the Power Button

The Power Button and Reset Button are the same physically, but they achieve different effects through different pressing methods. Follow the steps below to reset it correctly.

Step 1. Power on the camera. Find the power/reset button on the bottom of the camera, and press and hold it for 2 seconds to turn on the camera. (If your camera is powered on, you can skip this step.)

Step 2. Reset the camera. Press the power/reset button three times in a row. Then you will hear a kind of tone sound/short music from this camera.

Step 3. Put the cover back on firmly for your camera.

Done! You've successfully factory reset your camera.

Initial Setup

After resetting, if you hear a startup prompt (such as a welcome message, a beep, or repeated voice guidance), it means the camera has been successfully reset and is now waiting for configuration.
There is no need to reset again. Use your phone to scan the square QR code on the camera body or manually enter its UID (located below the square QR code, starting with 9527) to complete the setup as instructed.
