How to Install Reolink TrackMix LTE Plus Series & Reolink Solar Panel Plus

This article provides step-by-step instructions for installing the Reolink TrackMix LTE Plus Series camera with the Reolink Solar Panel Plus. The guide covers the installation process for both TrackMix LTE Plus and TrackMix LTE Plus 2, helping you set up the camera and solar panel correctly for reliable outdoor operation.

Choose a Suitable Installation Location

Before the installation, please read the following precautions to choose the most suitable location.

Solar Panel Location:
Choose a location where the solar panel can get the most sunlight throughout the year.
Note: The Reolink solar panel needs only a few hours of direct sunlight to power up your camera daily. Factors such as weather conditions, seasonal changes, and geographic location can affect the amount of energy produced by the solar panel. Refer to Understanding and Optimizing Reolink Solar Panel Efficiency to optimize the solar panel placement for better charging efficiency.
Camera Location:
Height: Install the camera 2-3 meters (7-10 feet) above the ground. This height maximizes the detection range of the PIR motion sensor.
Angle: To optimize motion detection, install the camera at an angle. Our PIR motion sensor is more sensitive to side-to-side movement than movement heading straight toward the camera. For example, when a person moves straight toward the camera (shown below), the PIR motion sensor will be less sensitive to the movement.

Reolink TrackMix LTE Plus 2 Installation Guide

It outlines the installation process for the Reolink TrackMix LTE Plus 2, including the mounting bracket, solar panel, and camera. Correct installation is essential for optimal performance and reliable power.

Install the Mounting Bracket

Option 1. Mount it on the Wall

The following accessories and tools will be used during installation:

Step 1. Drill the holes
Attach the mounting plate to the mounting surface with the triangular mark facing up.
Drill 4 holes (2 inches deep, 1/2 inch in diameter) according to the template.

Step 2. Insert the Screws
Insert the 4 screws from Screw Pack (for Mounting Bracket) and tighten them securely into the wall.

Step 3. Secure the Base
Attach the mounting bracket to the mounting surface.
Use the provided open-end wrench (#17 side) to tighten the nuts and secure the bracket.
NOTE: Make sure the Reolink logo on the mounting bracket is facing up.

Option 2. Mount it with the Hoop

The following accessories and tools will be used during installation:

Step 1. Thread the Metal Hoops
Thread the two hoops through the four holes on the base of the mounting bracket, leaving some slack on the end with the buckle.
NOTE: Make sure the Reolink logo on the mounting bracket is facing up.

Step 2. Tighten the Hoops
Wrap the hoops tightly around the post, and pull the ends through the buckle until tight. Tighten the screws at the angle shown in the diagram.

Step 3. Tighten the Nuts
Use a screwdriver to tighten the nuts on the hoops to secure them in place.

Install the Solar Panel

The following accessories and tools will be used during installation:

Step 1. Secure the Solar Panel
Attach the solar panel to the solar panel bracket using two screws (with washers) from the Screw Pack 1 (for Solar Panel).
Use the provided wrench (#14 side) to tighten the nuts, ensuring the solar panel is stable but not fully tightened.

Step 2. Secure the Solar Panel Bracket
Attach the solar panel bracket to the mounting bracket using three screws from the Screw Pack 2 (for Solar Panel Bracket).

Step 3. Adjust the Solar Panel Angle
Adjust the solar panel to face the sunlight.
Secure the angle with two screws (with washers) from the Screw Pack 1 (for Solar Panel).
Use the open-end wrench (#14 side) to tighten the nuts and secure the bracket.
NOTE: Do not install the solar panel completely horizontally, as it may collect dust and debris more easily. It's recommended to install the solar panel at an angle to receive the most direct sunlight.

Step 4. Tighten the Nuts
After adjusting the angle, use the hex key and wrench (#14 side) to fully tighten all the nuts from the previous steps.

Step 5. Protect the Solar Panel
For added protection, it is recommended to use the metal wire hook to secure the solar panel to the solar panel bracket.

Install the Camera

The following accessories and tools will be used during installation:

Step 1. Install Pre-Mounting Screws
Attach the camera to the mounting bracket. Insert two screws (washers not needed) from the Screw Pack (for Camera) into upper holes, leaving 1/3 inch exposed.

Step 2. Hang the Camera
Thread the power cable through the hole above the camera. Hang the camera over the exposed screws, then slide the camera down until it locks into place.
Tighten the screws with a screwdriver.

Step 3. Insert Screws into the Lower Holes
Insert and tighten two screws (washers recommended) into the lower holes on the mounting bracket.
NOTE: Ensure the camera antenna is facing upwards after installation. Peel off the protective film from the lens before use.

Power On the Camera

Step 1. Reconnect the Power
Thread both the camera and solar panel power cables through the cable hole on the upper part of
the bracket.
Reconnect the camera and solar panel to the battery pack.
Long-press the power button on the battery pack for 1 second to turn it on.

Step 2. Organize the Power Cables (Optional)
Use the cable slot inside the bracket to thread a cable tie (not provided) and secure the power cable.

Install the Solar Panel

The following accessories and tools will be used during installation:

Step 1. Attach the camera mounting base to the mounting bracket with two screws.

Step 2. Drill holes with a power drill in the desired mounting surface according to the mounting template.

Step 3. Insert the included anchors, and attach the mounting bracket to the mounting surface. Use the provided open-end wrench to tighten the screws to secure the bracket.

Step 4. Install the solar panel onto the bracket. Use the provided hex key to tighten the screws and secure the panel in place.

Step 5. Loosen the four screws on both sides of the solar panel’s bracket and find the angle that receives maximum sunlight. Once determined, tighten the screws firmly to maintain the desired angle.

Step 6. Connect the cable from the panel to the shorter cable on the bracket. Ensure that the arrows on the two cables are aligned.

Install the Camera

The following accessories and tools will be used during installation:

Option 1. Attach to the Mounting Bracket

It is recommended to attach the camera to the mounting bracket for better waterproof performance.

Step 1. Secure the lower part of the camera bracket using a screwdriver and two screws.
Step 2. Fix the upper part with the screwdriver and two screws.
Step 3. Connect the camera’s charging cable to the longer cable on the bracket.

Option 2. Install it Separately from the Solar Panel

Step 1. Drill holes with the mounting hole template.
Step 2. Install the mount base with screws.
Step 3. Power the camera by connecting its charging cable to the longer cable on the bracket.
Step 4. Adjust the camera direction as needed by panning and tilting it through the Reolink App or Client.
