Try the troubleshooting tips for Argus 3 Pro / Argus 3 2K listed below to see if they will resolve your issue. If not, you can go to the troubleshooting section to find solutions or contact Reolink Support for help.

  • Argus 3 Pro can‘t connect to 5GHz WiFi but works with 2.4GHz WiFi.

Cause 1. The WiFi channel is not supported.
Here is a chart of the WiFi channels the camera supports. Check on the router the channel your WiFi router uses and see if it's one of the supported channels.

Cause 2. The WiFi standard is not supported.
Currently, Reolink cameras only support WiFi 1–4. If you use a WiFi 6 router, you can contact us to upgrade camera firmware version for you.

  • Receive too many false alarms from the camera.

Cause: This camera uses PIR detection, so all movements of any objects (including insects, windows, plants, shadows, etc.) can trigger the alarm.
Solution: Set the detection zone and object size.

  • Argus 3 Pro / Argus 3 2K misses detection.

Cause: The position and angle of the camera need to be optimized.
    Solution 1.
Mount the camera at a height of 2-3 meters (the recommended mounting height for Reolink battery-powered cameras).
Solution 2. The detecting distance of the PIR motion sensor is 9 meters, and the detecting angle is 120˚ horizontally. Motions out of this range can’t be detected. Please refer to the following pictures to adjust the angle of the camera.
Solution 3. Our PIR motion sensor is more sensitive to side-to-side movement than movement heading straight toward the camera. For example, when a person moves straight toward the camera (shown below), the PIR motion sensor will be less sensitive to the movement.
For more information, please refer to How to Adjust PIR Angle.

  • The detection zone of "others" cannot be painted.

Please do not worry. That's how it's supposed to be, not a problem with the app.

The camera detects motion through a PIR sensor, which works by detecting infrared light given off by moving objects that emit heat, and the detecting area can not be adjusted. Therefore, the camera alarm will be triggered as long as there is a temperature difference in the detecting area. If you choose "paint all" here, the camera will only use smart detection to detect persons and vehicles.

  • The camera prompt "Connection to the router failed."

Cause 1. The camera is not correctly set up.
Solution: Check the correct setup instructions in this video: How to do Initial Setup for Argus series cameras via Reolink App
Cause 2. The WiFi name or password is incorrect.
Solution: If you are sure that you have followed the instructions correctly to set it up, make sure you enter the correct WiFi name and password.
Cause 3. The network signal is not good.
Solution: Please move the camera beside the router and try again.
