Reolink Argus 3 Pro and Reolink Argus 3 2K are battery/solar-powered cameras with features like person/vehicle detection, two-way audio, time lapse, etc.

This article will guide you in configuring some advanced features via Reolink App & Client.

Smart Person & Vehicle Detection

Based on traditional motion detection, smart person/vehicle detection is a more advanced technology with further optimized algorithms to reduce false alarms and filter person/vehicle events from all movements.

For more accurate detection and fewer unwanted alarms, you can customize the detection zone, sensitivity, object size, and camera recording schedule for the person and vehicle detection on Reolink App/Client. Take the recording schedule as an example here.

Detection Zone & Privacy Mask

This part will help you distinguish the detection zone from the privacy mask and guide you in setting up a detection zone or privacy mask.

Differences

Detection Zone: This function is used to reduce false alarms. The movements in the non-detection area you paint will not trigger the camera to record or send alerts, but the non-detection area will still appear in the video. Setting up the detection zone will not influence the camera view

Privacy Mask: This function is used to protect others' privacy in case some areas are not allowed to be monitored. You can add at most 3 privacy masks. The privacy mask is a rectangle, and you cannot customize its shape. The privacy mask will influence the camera view

  • Set Up a Detection Zone

    1. This video will guide you to set up the detection zone via Reolink App (from the beginning) and Reolink Client (from 2:15)
    2. The grey part is the non-detection area.

Siren & Two-Way Audio

The siren can alert you or warn off intruders. If the siren is enabled, the camera will make a sound when it detects motion.

Two-way audio allows you to communicate with the person from the camera side.

Customize the Siren Sound

You can switch on/off the siren via both Reolink App and Reolink Client, but siren customization is only available on Reolink App.

  • On Reolink App

    1. Log in to the camera and go to Device Settings > Siren.
    2. Enable Siren and go to Siren Sound > Custom sounds.
    3. Tap the blue microphone icon to start recording and tap it again to stop.

Spotlight & Status Lights

Argus 3 Pro / Argus 3 2K is built with white spotlights. If enabled, the spotlights will turn on automatically when the camera detects motion events (only at night or in low-light condition).

Spotlights settings are available via both the App and the Client.
