Installation of Argus 2/Argus Pro

Connection

To make the camera work properly and monitor the designed area, you need to make sure the camera is connected to WiFi, the battery is available, and also mount the camera with a bracket as you need.

Before you connect the camera to WiFi, please make sure the WiFi meets the requirements:

WiFi Standard: IEEE 802.11b/g/n

Operating Frequency: 2.4Ghz

WiFi Security: WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK

Please take the below diagram as a reference to connect the camera to the power source.

To make the camera work, you can use a Reolink solar panel or DC Power (5V/2A) to charge the battery. 

Mount the Camera

Installation Tips

  • Do not face the camera towards any objects with bright lights, including sunshine, bright lamp lights, etc.

  • Do not place the camera near any outlets, including the air conditioner vents, humidifier outlets, the heat transfer vents of projectors, etc.
  • Do not install the camera in places with strong wind.
  • Do not face the camera towards a mirror.
  • Keep the camera at least 1 meter away from any wireless devices, including WiFi routers and phones in order to avoid wireless interference.

Difference between Argus 2 and Argus Pro

Argus 2 supports both outdoor security mount and wall magnetic mount, while Argus Pro only supports the former.

Initial Setup

To set up the camera, you need to connect the camera to WiFi for network connection. After that, you may finish the initial setup via both Reolink App and Reolink Client.

  • On Reolink App

    Step 1. Power on the camera and wait for the camera to start up. After you hear a startup sound, you will hear a repeated Ding sound or "Please run Reolink App, add the camera and set it up.", which means you may scan the QR code and start the setup process.

    Step 2. Tap on the icon mceclip0.png in the top right corner to start the initial setup.

    Step 3. Scan the QR code on the back of the camera. If the phone doesn't respond, please tap Enter and then manually type in the UID (16-digit characters under the QR code of the camera).

    Step 4. Select Wi-Fi Not configured. If you hear the camera speaking Please run App, add the camera and set it up , please tick I have heard the voice prompt, then tap Next.

    Step 5. Enter the Wi-Fi password of the selected Wi-Fi network (you may tap the right eye icon to see and double-check the password) and tap Next

    Step 6. For Reolink battery-powered cameras, a QR code will be generated and displayed on your phone. Please place the QR code on your phone in front of the camera’s lens at a distance of about 20 cm (8 inches) and let the camera scan the QR code. Tick I have heard the beep sound or I have heard the voice prompt and tap Next.

    Step 7. After the beep sound, the camera will try to connect to the router, please wait for 60 seconds.

    Step 8. You may initialize your camera: "Create a login password" and "Name your camera". Forgetting this password could be troublesome in the future, please memorize it at your convenience.

    Step 9. "Initialization finished". Click "Use Now" and start to preview now.

  • On Reolink Client

    Step 1. Power on the camera and wait for the voice prompt:  Camera has been started up. Please run Reolink App, add the camera and set it up.

    Step 2. Click "+icon on the top right corner, choose UID and enter the UID of the camera, and then, click Add starting to set it up.

    Step 3. Click OK.

    Step 4. Check Connect to Wifi, then click OK.

    Step 5. Input the WiFi information to configure WiFi for this camera. Please make sure that you enter the correct WiFi password.

    Step 6. A QR code will be generated and displayed on the screen of your PC. Please place the camera in front of the QR code on your PC at a distance of about 20cm (8 inches) to let the camera scan the QR code. 

    Step 7.When you hear the voice prompt of scan succeeded, click Finish to wait. 

    Step 8. After you hear the prompt of Connection to the router succeeded, you can create a password and edit the name for the camera. After that, the initial setup process is finished.
