This article will show you how to initially set up battery-powered WiFi Cameras via Reolink Client step by step.
Applies to: Argus 2, Argus 2E, Argus 2E Plus, Argus Pro, Argus PT, Argus PT 2K, Argus PT Pro, Argus PT Plus, Argus PT Ultra, Argus PT Lite, Argus Eco, Argus Eco Pro, Argus Eco Ultra, Argus 3, Argus 3 Pro, Argus 3 Plus, Argus 3 Ultra, Argus 3E, Argus Track, Reolink Duo (battery), Reolink Duo 2 (battery), Reolink TrackMix (battery), Reolink Doorbell Battery.
Step 1. Power on the camera. Remember to turn on the power switch on the camera before initial setup, except for Argus 2 and Argus Pro. After a startup sound, you will hear a repeated Ding sound or a voice prompt.
Note:
- The voice prompt you will hear may be “Welcome to Reolink, please install the Reolink app and scan the QR code on the camera” in multilingual versions, or “please run the Reolink app, add the camera and set it up”.
- After you power on the camera, the status light on the front of the camera will turn on in red color, then it will turn off about 3s later.
Step 2. Click the “+” icon, choose UID and enter the UID of the camera, and then click Add.

Step 3. Read the power-saving tip for battery-powered cameras and click Confirm.
Step 4. Select Wi-Fi, then click Confirm. If you hear a ding sound or voice prompt to tell you set up the camera, select correspondingly and click Next.
Step 5. Enter the Wi-Fi information to configure Wi-Fi for this camera, then click Next.
Note: Some camera models only support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Please refer to the actual specifications on the official website and the Reolink Client for accurate details. If there is no indication of both 5GHz and 2.4GHz on Enter Wi-Fi Info Page, it means the camera only supports 2.4GHz.
Step 6. Place the camera in front of the QR code on your PC at a distance of about 20cm (7.87 inches inches) to let the camera scan the QR code. After hearing a beep sound, click Next.
Step 7. Wait around 60 seconds for the camera to connect to the router. If you heard “connection to the router succeeded”, select correspondingly and click Next. If not, click Failed to connect to the router and do as told.
Step 8. Create a password and name your camera. Then click Next.
Step 9. Select a scene according to the place where your camera will be installed. Then click Finish.
Note: Some camera models do not support scene mode settings. Please refer to the actual configuration page on the Reolink Client for details.
