1. Why Locking the Reolink Client Screen is Important
Reolink Client provides a screen lock feature to enhance security and prevent unauthorized access to your surveillance footage. When the screen is locked, users need to enter a password to resume operations. This is particularly useful in environments where multiple people have access to the computer or when you need to step away from your workstation without logging out completely.
Benefits of Locking the Screen:
- Enhances Security: Prevents unauthorized access to live streams and recorded footage.
- Prevents Accidental Changes: Avoids unintended modifications to settings or camera feeds.
- Protects Privacy: Ensures that sensitive video footage is not exposed to unauthorized individuals.
2. How to Lock the Reolink Client Screen
Step 1: Set a Lock Screen Password
Before using the screen lock function, you need to set a lock screen password: Open Reolink Client, go to Reolink Client Settings > System Settings, set a lock screen password and save it.
Step 2: Choose Your Screen Lock Method
Enabling "Lockscreen password required when Client starts" will automatically lock the Client on restart, requiring a password to access. Enable/disable the option that best suits your security needs.
If "Lockscreen password required when Client starts" is not enabled, you need to manually click the lock icon in the top-right corner of the Reolink Client to lock the screen when needed. This method is also useful for temporarily locking the Reolink Client.
3. Change/Reset Reolink Client Lock Screen Password
To change the password, click "Change Password", enter the current password, then enter a new password, and click "Save" to confirm.
If you forget the lock screen password, you can delete the Reolink folder to reset it. For detailed steps, refer to: What Should I Do if I Forget Reolink Client Password (New Client).
Locking your Reolink Client enhances security by protecting your footage. Set a password, choose your lock method, and reset it if needed to maintain system privacy and safety.
