Applies to: Reolink motion detection cameras
PoE and WiFi cameras identify the motions by comparing the two frames (before and after). If there is a difference between the two frames, the alarm for motion detection will be triggered.
For example, false alarms from day/night mode shifts are unavoidable due to the working principles & algorithm of motion detection. Intensive motion like rain/snowflakes, insects attracted by IR lights, may also cause frequent alarms which may not have a good solution to it.
When you found out that no motion in the recorded videos but the camera triggers an alarm. Here are some suggestions for you.
Cause: Install the camera in a scene that is prone to false alarms.
Solution:
- Set the proper motion detection area on the camera, refer to How to Setup Motion Detection Area for Reolink Cameras
- Please lower the sensitivity for the camera, refer to How to Configure Motion Detection Sensitivity for Reolink Cameras
