What is microSD card/HDD Overwrite
Reolink microSD card/HDD Overwrite is a feature that allows the security camera system to automatically delete the oldest video recordings when the storage (microSD card or HDD) becomes full. This ensures continuous recording by making space for new footage, without manual intervention. When enabled, the system will overwrite the oldest files, maintaining a constant loop of the most recent video data.
microSD card/HDD Overwrite Functionality Support
With advancing technology and evolving customer needs, Reolink has increasingly integrated and expanded the Overwrite feature across various models. The info below provides a brief overview of overwrite functionality support. For specific details on feature support, please refer to the options displayed in the software.
- Argus 2, Argus Pro, Argus Eco (2MP), Argus PT (2MP), Argus 2E, Reolink GO, and Reolink GO PT, automatically overwrite old files without a specific Overwrite option available in Reolink software.
- With technological advancements, all current cameras (except the ones mentioned above), NVRs, and Home Hubs now support the Overwrite option. Users can choose to enable or disable this feature to either automatically overwrite old footage or retain it.
- Certain models, such as the NVR (new UI), Home Hub series, Reolink Video Doorbell, Go Ranger PT, and Keen Ranger PT, etc. not only offer an overwrite switch but also allow users to choose the duration for footage is overwritten.
- Cameras without an SD card slot do not have an overwrite option when used as standalone devices because they are designed to work with an NVR, which supports the overwrite function on its own.
