This article will guide you through the simple steps to manage the buzzer settings on your Reolink NVR, allowing you to customize your surveillance experience for motion detection, video loss, and other situations. If your NVR keeps buzzing, you can simply check and turn off the buzzer.

Important Notes for Set up Buzzer of Reolink NVRs

There are three types of buzzer. Different software platforms support various types of buzzers. In the following table, you can see the types of buzzers supported by various software platforms.

  3. Disconnected Network: the camera on a certain channel is offline.
  4. IP Conflict: the IP address on one channel conflicts with another.
  5. Abnormal PoE power: Insufficient PoE power supply for the PoE NVR.

Step-by-Step Guide to Set up Buzzer of Reolink NVRs

  • Via Reolink App

    You may follow this video to set up the alarm buzzer (beep).

    Part 1. How to Enable Buzzer

    Step 1. Tap the gear Settings button in the top right corner to go to the settings page.

    Step 2. Tap Buzzer to go to the Buzzer Settings page. Turn on/off the Buzzer for the NVR, then you can turn on/off the Buzzer for the camera connected.

    Part 2. How to Set up Buzzer

    Step 3. Next, configure the buzzer Schedule to customize different settings for your cameras.

    For camera with smart detection, there are several detection types: Person, Vehicle, Animal and Others(varies from different model). Please choose either of them or combine two options/all of them together according to your needs and then tap Save button.  

    This ensures that the NVR will emit a sound alarm during the specified times when the camera detects an alert.

    For NVR with hardware version H3MB16/H3MB02/H3MB06, the buzzer setting interface is slightly different, and it does not have a schedule. You can directly enable the camera's Buzzer to turn it on.

    Part 1. How to Enable Buzzer

    Step 1. Log in to your NVR, then click Settings.

    Step 2. Go to Surveillance > Buzzer, enable Buzzer for the NVR.

    Then click on Schedule to select a camera that you wish to trigger the buzzer of the NVR when an alert is detected. Enable the Buzzer button for the camera.

    Step 3. Set up the schedule for this camera.

    For camera with smart detection, there are several detection types: Any Motion, Person, Vehicle and Pet (varies from different model). Please choose either of them or combine two options/all of them together according to your needs and then click Save button. You can click Apply to Other Cameras to copy the schedule to other channels.

    This ensures that the NVR will emit a sound alarm during the specified times when the camera detects an alert.

    Note: For PoE NVR with hardware version H3MB16/H3MB02/H3MB06, the buzzer setting interface is slightly different, and it does not have a schedule setting. You can directly enable the camera's Buzzer to turn it on.

  • Via Reolink Web Browser

    Via the web browser, you can set up three different alarm buzzers (beep) for the Reolink NVR: 

    • Motion Buzzer: the NVR will beep when the camera detects motion.

    • Video Loss Buzzer(only on the web browser with old UI): ther NVR will beep when any of the camera is disconnected from the NVR.

    • Exception Buzzer: the NVR will beep when any of the cameras meet an exception situation, including HDD Full, HDD Error, Net Disconnected and IP Conflict.

    Log in to your NVR via a web browser. Click the gear setting icon on the top right to get to the device settings page. Then click the button under Buzzer to enable/disable the buzzer.

    For Motion Buzzer

    Select a camera under the Schedule cection and turn on the Schedule button. Then you can set up the schedule for the camera.

    2. On Web Browser with Old UI

    Log in to your NVR via a web browser. Click the gear setting icon on the top right to get to the device settings page.

    For Motion Buzzer

    Click Alarm > Motion > Action. Choose a channel that you want to set up the tick the box to enable Audio Warning. Then Click OK to save the settings.

    Click Alarm > Video Loss. Choose a channel that you want to set up and click Enable. Configure a schedule and click Audio Warning. Then Click OK to save the settings.

    Click Alarm > Exception. Choose an exception type and click Audio Warning. Click OK to save the settings.

  • Via Reolink NVR (new UI)

    Applies to: RLN8-410 (hardware version H3MB18/N2MB02/N3MB01/N7MB01), RLN16-410 (hardware version H3MB18/N6MB01), RLN36 and RLN12W.

    Via the Reolink NVR(new UI), you can set up two different alarm buzzers (beep) for the Reolink NVR: 

    • Exception Buzzer: the NVR will beep when any of the cameras meet an exception situation, including HDD Full, HDD Error, Net Disconnected, IP Conflict and Abnormal PoE power.
    • Motion Buzzer: the NVR will beep when the camera detects motion.

    Go to Surveillance > Buzzer, enable the button next to the Buzzer. Then click Daily Schedule to set up the Motion Buzzer Schedule. Choose the channel and the type of alarm, then set up the schedule for the camera. Click Applies to Other Camera(s) if you want other cameras using the same settings.

  • Via Reolink NVR (Old UI)

    Applies to: RLN4-410 (hardware version H3MB17), RLN8-410 (hardware version H3MB02), RLN8-410-E, RLN16-410 (hardware version H3MB02/H3MB06)

    Via the Reolink NVR(old UI), you can set up three different alarm buzzers (beep) for the Reolink NVR:
