In today’s digital world, efficient management of continuous recordings is essential. Besides using SD cards and Reolink NVR, you can set up your camera to upload recordings directly to an FTP server. This article will guide you through the setup process for seamless storage and access.

Applies to: Which Cameras/NVRs Support FTP Uploading

Step 1. Ensure FTP settings are properly configured and that you’ve received an “FTP Test Successful” message.

If you haven’t set this up yet, refer to the article How to Set up FTP for Reolink Products, which explains the FTP configuration process for your Reolink device.

Step 2. Set up a Continuous Recording Schedule.

Once you’ve completed the configuration, follow the steps below to set up a continuous recording schedule. After completing these settings, your device will continuously upload recordings to the FTP server.

  • Via Reolink App

    Before setting up, upgrade the Reolink App to the latest version and then log in to your device on the Reolink App on your cellphone.

    Step 1. Tap the gear.png icon > More Features > FTP.

    Step 2. Tap Timer Schedule. Set a schedule for uploading files to the FTP server. Note: Some models do not support setting a Timer schedule; refer to the actual interface in the software.

    Step 3. Tap the icon icon to edit the times by swiping the schedule grid. If you want to remove a scheduled period, tap icon icon and then swipe the schedule grids. Each grid represents one hour.  Blue grids indicate the periods when motion recording is enabled. White grids indicate recording is disabled for the selected time period.

    You can also tap “Erase All” to clear all selections, or tap “Select All” to select the entire week.

    Step 4. Tap Save in the top right corner to save the settings. 

  • Via Reolink Client

    Step 1. Launch your Reolink Client and go to the Device Settings > Surveillance > FTP > Schedule.

    Step 2. Click Timer and select Enable, then click on the girds to customize the continuous record schedule. You can click enable all to quickly configure a 24/7 schedule for uploading recordings to FTP.

    Step 3. Click Save to save your configuration.

  • Via Reolink Web browser

    Applies to: All Reolink cameras and NVRs (exclude battery-powered cameras, Reolink Lumus, Reolink E1, and Reolink E1 Pro).

    Log in to your Reolink device via a web browser, and go to the Device settings > Surveillance > FTP. Click Timer and select Enable, then click on the girds to customize the continuous record schedule. You can click enable all to quickly configure a 24/7 schedule for uploading recordings to FTP.   • Via Monitor (Reolink NVR with New UI)

    Applies to: NVR with new UI.

    Step 1. Go to Settings > Surveillance page. Toggle the button next to FTP to enable it (be in blue), then click Daily Schedule under the FTP to configure a schedule for FTP uploading.

    Step 2. Select the channel you want to configure and toggle on the switch.

    Select Timer, click Enable, and then click on the girds to customize the continuous record schedule. If you want to copy the configuration to all the other cameras, click Applies to Other Camera(s) to proceed.

  • Via Monitor (Reolink NVR with Old UI)

    Applies to: RLN4-410, RLN8-410 (hardware version H3MB02/H3MB16), and RLN16-410 (hardware version H3MB02/H3MB06).

    Step 1. Log in to your NVR, and go to Menu > Network > Advanced > FTP Settings.

    Step 2. Click Schedule to configure the schedule of FTP upload. Check Enable and select the channel you want to configure. Click Normal and check all the grids. Click Apply to save the settings.
