Applies to: Reolink battery-powered cameras
Based on the PIR working principle, users cannot set up motion detection zones on the Reolink battery-powered cameras as they use PIR sensor to detect motions.
In PIR detection, motion is detected by means of a PIR sensor (passive infrared sensor). The PIR sensor detects emitted infrared energy from objects (humans and animals, but also cars) in the form of heat.
On Reolink battery-powered cameras, there is a PIR sensor on each side of the camera and the camera detects the temperature differences between two sides to detect motions. The camera will be triggered as long as there's a temperature difference between the two sides.
Due to the working principle of battery-powered cameras, the function of PIR detection zone is not available.
