This article mainly introduces the settings of a camera on the web interface. You could see and change could all these settings when you log in to the camera by the default admin account.

Applies to: Reolink products that support the web access 

The Device Settings page could be divided into 5 parts: Camera, Surveillance, Network, Storage, and System. 


  • Camera

    1. Display

    Flip/Mirroring: If your camera is installed upside down, you can enable it to correct the image. 

    Camera Name: Choose to display the camera name on the video or not or the position to display. 

    Date & Time: Choose to display the Date & Time on the video or not or the position to display. 

    Watermark: Users may enable/disable the watermark (shows the Reolink logo) on the screen.
    Anti-Flicker: There are four options: Other, 50Hz, 60Hz, and Off. If the image is overexposed, change the value of the anti-flicker or turn it off. 

    Day and Night: Choose the day/night mode to color, black & white, or auto.

    Privacy Mask: Users may set the privacy mask (up to 4 parts) for the camera to mask some areas.

    Advanced: Users can set up the brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness, Black & White and Color Switching Threshold, and color day/night mode for the camera. 

    2. Stream


    Users can configure the Resolution, Frame Rate (FTPS), or Max Bitrate for the clear or fluent stream of the camera. 

    For some models, users can also adjust Interframe Space and Frame Rate Mode. 

    3. Alarm Settings



    Users can set up detection alarm settings for the cameras, including detection sensitivity and detection zone. 

    If the camera supports auto-tracking and person/vehicle detection, users can also set up sensitivity for smart detection, Alarm Delay, and Object Size. If your camera support auto-tracking, it will also include Auto Tracking settings, such as tracking type, tracking methods, etc.

    4. Light


    Infrared Lights: Users can set the IR lights to be Auto or Off. 


    Spotlights: If the camera has spotlights, users can configure the brightness of the light and set up the Night Mode. There are four modes in the Night Mode settings: Off, Auto, Stay On, and On as scheduled. 

    5. Audio 


    Record Audio: Enable or disable audio recording. If it's disabled, the audio won't be heard in live view or playback. 

    Volume: For cameras that have a speaker, the volume can be adjusted. 

    6. Info


    Check the camera's system information, including model number, UID, Build No., Hardware No., Config Version, Firmware Version, and Details.

  • Surveillance

    1. Record


    Enable Record: Users can enable or disable the recording feature for the camera. 

    Overwrite: If it's enabled, the old files will be covered to save space for the next recording when the SD card is about full. 

    Pre-Motion Record: The camera will start recording before the motion if this option is on. 

    Post-Motion Record: Extend the recording time after the motion stops. 

    Schedule: Configure the record schedule. One grid means one hour. Users can choose to enable alarm recording or continuous recordings. For cameras that support smart detection, different detection types can be selected. 

    2. Email 


    Enable Email Alerts: Enable or disable alerts for the camera. 

    Email Settings: Including SMTP Server, Port, Sender Name, Sender Address, Password, Recipient Address, Email content, and Interval. 



    Schedule: Configure the email alert schedule. One grid means one hour. Users can choose to send emails only when there's motion, or continuously send emails in a specific interval. For cameras that support smart detection, different detection types can be selected. 

    3. FTP 


    Enable FTP: Enable or disable uploading videos or images to an FTP server. 

    FTP settings: 
    Server Address:
    Type in the address of your FTP server and FTP port.

    Server Port: The default FTP port for Reolink products is 21.
    Username and Password: Enter the username and password of your FTP server. If there is no username and password required, please enable Anonymous FTP.
    Transfer Mode: Choose to transfer the data by Auto, PORT, or PASV mode. We suggest you choose the Auto option.
    FTPS Only: Your FTP server must support the FTPS protocol. If this option is enabled, the camera will communicate only using FTPS. 

    Remote Directory: Set an upload directory for device video recording. You may also leave it blank.
    Generate subfolder by: The format of the generated subfolder. 
    Upload: Choose to upload only video, only image, or both video and image. 
    Video Resolution: Resolutions for the uploaded videos.
    FTP Postpone: Set the record time limit after a motion is detected. This option is only available when the File Type is Video and the FTP Schedule is Alarm.
    Max File Size (MB): Customize the maximum file size. 
    Overwrite File: Choose to overwrite the single file (which will only retain the latest file) or alternately overwrite two files (which will generate temporary files). 
    Image Resolution: Resolutions for the uploaded images. 
    Interval: The interval for uploading the image to your FTP server. 



    Schedule: Configure the FTP uploading schedule. One grid means one hour. Users can choose to upload files only when there's motion, or continuously in a specific interval. For cameras that support smart detection, different detection types can be selected. 

    4. Siren


    Enable Siren: The siren will sound when motion is detected. 

    Schedule: Configure a weekly schedule for the camera to make an alarm sound while detecting motion. For cameras that support smart detection, different detection types can be selected. 

    5. Push


    Push Interval: Configure the interval for the camera to send push notifications. 

    Schedule: Configure a time when the camera sends notifications while detecting motion. For cameras that support smart detection, different detection types can be selected. 

  • Network


    Connected Network: Show the connection status of the camera, whether it's wired or connected to WiFi. 

    Network Information: Display the camera's IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, Preferred DNS, Alternative DNS, and MAC Address. 


    Enable UPnP: Enable UPnP for remote connection. 

    Enable UID:  Enable it for remote access via UID. 

    Enable DDNS: Enable it when trying to access the camera via DDNS. 

    NTP Settings: Users can synchronize the NTP settings or customize their own NTP server for the camera.  

    Port Settings: Enable or disable the HTTP, HTTPS, RTMP, RTSP, ONVIF, and Media Port and modify the port value for the camera. 

    HTTPS Settings: A self-signed certificate is used by default. Users can import their own certificates. 

  • Storage


    Display the status and storage of the SD card installed in the camera. 

    Click Format to format the SD card and all the recordings will be deleted. 

  • System

    1. User Management


    Illegal Login Lockout: After a series of failed attempts within 3 minutes, the camera account will be temporarily locked for a few minutes if this option is enabled. 

    Account status: Display the current online user. 

    Change Password: Change the password for the current admin account.

    Add user: Add a user for the camera. You can configure its account type, username, and password.

    2. Date & Time


    Current Time: Display the current time of the camera.

    Time Format: Choose to display in 24h or 12h time format. 

    Date Format: Choose to display in MM/DD/YYYY, DD/MM/YYYY, or YYYY/MM/DD. 

    3. Maintenance


    Auto Focus: Enable or disable the auto focus feature if the camera supports this. 

    Firmware Upgrade: Upgrade the firmware manually for the camera. 

    Auto Reboot: Automatically reboot the device. 

    Default settings: Restore the camera to factory settings or reboot it manually. 

    Note: If your device is an NVR, the system information of the NVR will be in the System section.
