How to Set up Presets for Reolink Cameras

What if I need to check out the garage gate quickly without the camera panning, tilting, or zooming each time? No worries. You can adjust your camera to a specific position and set it as a preset. 

You may follow the guidelines below to set up the Preset via different platforms.

Note: Make sure to use PTZ to control your camera.

• Via Reolink App

  Step 1. Go to the live-view page of the camera, and tap the PTZ icon. Aim your camera at a specific area by panning, tilting, or zooming the camera. 

  

  Step 2. Tap the Preset icon . It will show No data if there are no preset points yet. 

  

  Step 3. Tap the Add button to add a new preset point. Name the preset point and tap Confirm to save the point. 

  

  Note: There will be a snapshot showing the current point you set. It will be convenient for you to manage the point later. 

  Step 4. You can repeat the previous steps to create more presets. If you tap on the preset, the camera will turn to the preset point immediately.
  

  Step 5. You could also edit the preset's name or delete the preset point by tapping the edit icon or Trash Can icon.

  

• Via Reolink Client

  Step 1. Choose the PTZ menu on the live-view page, and use the arrows and the zoom buttons to aim your camera's view at a specific area that you want to set as a preset.

  

  Step 2. Click the Preset button and then click the Add button to set the current camera viewpoint as a preset. Then you name the preset.

         

  Step 3. Aim the camera to other positions where you want to set as presets by repeating Step 1 to Step 2.

  Step 4. You can edit the existing preset's name or delete the preset.

  

  Step 5. Click the preset point to make your camera go to the exact spot you specified quickly.

• Via Reolink Web browser

  Step 1. Input the IP Address of your camera on a web browser and log in to your camera.

  Step 2. Click the drop-down arrow to unfold the PTZ menu on the live-view page, and use the pan/tilt/zoom function to aim your camera's view at a specific area that you want to set as a preset. Then click the Preset.

  

  Step 3. Click the Add button to set the current camera viewpoint as a preset. Then you could type in the name of the preset. Then click Confirm.

  

  Step 4. Aim the camera to other positions where you want to set as presets by repeating Step 2 and 3.  

  Step 5. The preset points you have added will be displayed as shown below. You can edit the existing preset or delete the preset.

  

  Step 6. Click on the image of the preset point to make your camera turn to that position quickly.

• Via Reolink NVR (new UI)

  Step 1. Enter the live view page of the camera on the NVR monitor, and then click the PTZ icon to call the PTZ panel.

  

  Step 2. Aim your camera at a specific place.

  You could click the arrows to pan or tilt the camera. Slide the Zoom bar and the Focus bar to make the camera zoom in or out, and focus near or far. 

  

  Step 3. Create a preset point.

  After aiming your camera in Step 2, click below the Preset Point on the PTZ menu to mark the current place as a preset. Name this preset by typing the name in the input box and then click Confirm.

  For example, in the picture below, the preset of the camera looking at the floor near the glass door is named preset 1.

  

  Step 4. You can add more presets by repeating Step 2 and Step 3. 

  Step 5. Click below the Preset Point on the PTZ menu. You will see all the presets you've created. For example, the picture below shows that three presets have been added: preset 1, preset 2, and preset 3.

  

  Notes:

  : Click this button and the camera will turn to the corresponding preset point immediately.

  : Click this button and you could rename the preset.

  : Click the Trash Can to delete the preset you no longer want.

• Via Reolink NVR (Old UI)

  Add a Preset

  Step 1. Left-click on the live view window of the camera and then click the PTZ icon to open the PTZ panel.

  

  Step 2. Click on the arrow to set a position for the preset.

  

  Step 3. Tap on Preset and choose a No, name the preset, then click Set to save the preset.

  

  

  Delete a Preset

  Choose the preset that you want to delete, and then click Clear.
