If you wish to ensure that your Reolink camera records audio or you hear audio during live streaming, it's essential to enable the audio settings on your device. This guide provides step-by-step instructions to activate audio features across the Reolink App, Reolink Client, web browser, and Reolink NVR.

Applies to: All Reolink cameras (except for RLC-423, RLC-423S, and RLC-423WS)

Note:

1. The camera can only record audio when the Record Audio toggle is turned on. If this option is disabled, audio will not be included in video recordings.

2. Whether the Record Audio setting also affects live audio during preview may vary depending on the specific camera model and firmware version. Please refer to your camera’s actual behavior for confirmation.

3. If live audio is still audible with Record Audio turned off, you can manually mute it by tapping the Speaker icon on the live view page.

  • Via Reolink App

    Here is a video for your reference:

    Step 1. Please launch the Reolink App and tap the Device Settings gear icon.

    Step 2. Go to Sounds, turn on Record Audio, and the camera will record audio.

  • Via Reolink Client

    Step 1. Launch Reolink Client. Go to Device Settings > Device > Sounds. Switch on Record Audio to set the camera to record audio.

    Step 2. Come back to the camera Live View page. Click the Speaker icon and slide the slider to adjust the audio volume.

  • Via Reolink Web browser

    Applies to:  All Reolink devices which can support audio function (except battery-powered cameras, E1, E1 Pro, WiFi NVR, and Reolink Lumus)

    Step 1. Log in to your camera in the web browser.

    Step 2. Click the gear icon on the top right to get to the device settings page.

    Step 3. Click Camera > Audio. Toggle the switch to enable Audio.

    Step 4. Go to the preview or playback page, click audio icon to enable the audio when you're viewing the camera.

    If your camera or NVR is with an old setting interface, you can refer to the instructions below: 

    Step 1. Log into your camera or NVR in the web browser. Click the gear icon on the top right to get to the device settings page.

    Step 2. Click Recording > Encode. Tick to enable Record Audio. Click OK to save the setting.

    If your device is an NVR, click Channel to set up different cameras on different channels.

    Step 3. Open the Sound button on the preview or playback page.

    Notes:

    The audio settings for mainstream and substream on the wifi NVR are independent of each other. Please remember to enable Audio Record for both mainstream and substream.

  • Via Reolink NVR (new UI)

    Step 1. Log in your NVR on a monitor, then go to Setting > Camera > Audio and Light. Choose the channel that you want and turn on the Record Audio button.

    Step 2. Left click live view image of the camera to pop up the toolbar, click the Speaker icon to activate audio for this camera.

  • Via Reolink NVR (Old UI)

    Applies to: RLN4-410 (hardware version H3MB17), RLN8-410 (hardware version H3MB02), RLN8-410-E, RLN16-410 (hardware version H3MB02/H3MB06)

    Step 1. Log in your PoE NVR on a monitor, then go to Menu > Recording > Encode page. Choose the channel that you want to enable audio.

    Step 2. Check the Record Audio option, click Apply to save your settings.

    Step 3. Go to Display > Output page, enable the Audio option, and click Apply to save your settings.

    Step 4. Click the speaker icon speakerof your channel on live view page or playback page to enable audio.

    Note: 

    1. You need to turn on the speaker corresponding to the channel which you want to enable audio.

    2. After choosing the Record Audio option of one channel, you could click Copy To to copy your settings to other channels.
