Reolink keeps releasing more and more models that adopt the Smart Detection feature. These cameras can detect the motion of certain alarm types, such as the person, vehicle, pet, and animal (the alarm types may vary according to camera models).

We can identify whether or not a camera can support smart detection through product model number. For some camera models which have several hardware versions, we need to make a further judgement through the hardware version. To find out the hardware version of your device, you can refer to: How to Find out System Information (Firmware Version) via Reolink Software.

Note: The stand-alone camera can work separately without a PoE NVR recorder, and you can set up the smart detection feature via the Reolink App/Client.

If you want to add the camera to the NVR system to set up the smart detection feature, then it can only work with the New Hardware version NVR recorder system.

Please refer to Which NVR Support Smart Detection to check whether your NVR supports it.

Note: Due to the hardware limitations, all other Reolink models don't support the Smart Detection feature even after the firmware upgrade.
