-
Shut off Power supply at the circuit Breaker
Check local laws and regulations before installation. If you're outside North America, installation and wiring must be performed by a licensed electrician. Be sure to follow all relevant codes and standards during installation.
-
WARNING: Risk of Electrical Shock
- During installation, you'll be handling electrical wires. If you're unsure of the location of the circuit breaker or fuse box, or how to turn off power to the floodlight Circuit Breaker, we recommend hiring a licensed electrician.
- Turn off the circuit during installation.
- Do not use a dimmer switch or timer with this product.
- Ensure the power supply is within 100-240V AC, 50/60 Hz.
- Use the drill carefully and follow safety guidelines.
Step 1: Secure the Mounting Bracket
Option 1: Install the Camera on an Existing Junction Box
Use the screws from Screw Pack A to attach the mounting bar to the junction box, ensure the wires inside the junction box pass through the mounting bracket, and use the screws from Pack B to secure the bracket.
Notes:
- Make sure the "FRONT" text is facing outward.
-
Make sure the arrow on the bracket is pointing in the correct direction based on the mounting method.
- If mounting vertically on the wall, the arrow on the bracket should point upward.
- lf mounting under an eave, the arrow should point toward your house.
Option 2: Install the Camera Directly on a Wall(Without Junction Box)
Mark three spots for the mounting bracket. Drill holes according to the spots and insert the anchors. Carefully pull the wire out of the wall and pass it through the bracket. Use the screws from Pack C to secure the bracket.
Notes:
- Adjust the bracket to ensure the bubble in the level is centered.
-
Make sure the arrow on the bracket is pointing in the correct direction based on the mounting method.
- If mounting vertically on the wall, the arrow on the bracket should point upward.
- If mounting under an eave, the arrow should point toward your house
Step 2: Connect Wires
Hang the camera on the bracket. Wire colors for live, neutral, and ground may vary by country or region, so please follow the wiring conventions used in your area.
-
For North America, connect the live wire (black), neutral wire (white), and earth wire (yellow-green) from the junction box to the matching wires on the camera.
Cover the wires with the wire nuts and twist them about five turns. Gently pull the nuts to make sure the connection is secure. -
For EU/UK/AU, connect the live wire (brown), neutral wire (blue), and earth wire (yellow-green) from the junction box to the matching wires on the camera.
Cover the wires with the wire nuts and twist them about five turns. Gently pull the nuts to make sure the connection is secure.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Avoid crossover connections. If you're unsure or can't identify the wires, consult an electrician for safety.
Step 3: Secure the Camera
Secure the camera to the bracket by inserting the screws from Pack D into the holes, then insert the silicone plug.
Step 4: Adjust the Angle
Adjust the movable joint of the camera.
Notes:
- Use the wrench to tighten or loosen the camera knob if needed.
- Avoid repeatedly twisting the camera in one direction to prevent internal wire damage.
Step 5: Turn on the Circuit Breaker
Wait for the indicator light to turn solid blue.

Reolink Elite Pro Floodlight PoE Installation Guide
Materials needed: Camera, mounting bar (if needed), mounting plate, screws, screwdriver, marker, wrench, and an electric drill.
Here are two diagrams showing how to install the Reolink Elite Pro Floodlight PoE camera on a wall or ceiling, along with some precautions before installation:
-
Recommended Mounting Locations
To achieve the best image quality, make sure the camera and the monitored area have consistent lighting.
- Avoid aiming the camera directly at bright light sources.
- Avoid pointing the camera toward windows, as infrared LEDs, status lights, or ambient lighting may cause glare or reflections.
Do not install the camera in a shaded spot facing a bright area; always aim it toward a well-lit environment.
-
Water and Dust Resistance
- Keep the LAN port away from water or moisture. The camera is IP66-rated, meaning it can withstand rain and snow, but it is not suitable for underwater use.
- Ensure the LAN port remains clean and free of dirt or debris.
- Use the drill carefully and follow safety guidelines.
Step 1: Choose a Mounting Location
The camera can be mounted vertically on a wall or installed upside down on an eave or overhang, depending on your installation environment.
Step 2. Secure the Mounting Plate
Option 1: Direct Installation on a Wall/Ceiling(Without Junction Box)
-
Mark and Drill Holes
Place the mounting plate against the installation surface and mark the three hole positions with a marker. Drill three holes approximately 1 inch deep.
Wall Mounting: For wall installations, ensure the arrow on the mounting plate is pointing upward, and verify that the bubble in the built-in level is centered.
Overhand Mounting: When mounting on an eave or overhang, ensure the arrow on the plate is pointing toward the house (away from the monitored area).
-
Secure the Mounting Plate
Hard Walls (e.g., Concrete, Brick, and Plaster Walls)
Insert three wall anchors from Bag C into the drilled holes. Then, secure the mounting plate to the wall with the three long screws.Soft Walls (e.g., Wooden walls)
Secure the mounting plate directly to the wooden surface using the three long screws from Bag C.
Option 2. Mounting on an Existing Junction Box
Note: If you don't have a junction box and need one for installation, a 4-inch junction box is recommended.
-
Secure the Mounting Bar
Attach the mounting bar to the junction box with two short screws from Bag A.
NOTE: Make sure the "FRONT" text is facing outward. -
Secure the Mounting Plate
Secure the mounting bar to the junction box, then attach the mounting plate to the mounting bar using the screw from Bag B.
-
Wall Mounting: Confirm that the arrow on the plate points upward and that the bubble in the level is centered.
-
Overhang Mounting: When mounting on an eave or overhang, ensure the arrow on the plate points toward the house (away from the monitored area).
-
Wall Mounting: Confirm that the arrow on the plate points upward and that the bubble in the level is centered.
Step 3. Hang the Camera
Hang the strap located on the back of the camera onto the hook on the mounting plate to support the device during installation.
Step 4. Reconnect the RJ45 Cable (Optional)
If the Ethernet cable was disconnected earlier in the process, reconnect it now.
Step 5. Secure the Camera
-
Attach the Camera to the Mounting Plate: Align the cable outlet on the camera base with the corresponding outlet on the mounting plate.
- Option 1. Routing Cable Through the Mounting Plate: Remove the silicone plug and align it with the cable outlet.
-
Option 2. Cable Hidden in the Junction Box: Keep the silicone plug in place and align it with the cable outlet.
- Fasten the Camera: Secure the camera to the mounting plate with two long screws in Bag D.
-
Insert the Silicone Plug: After installation, insert the waterproof silicone plug to enhance outdoor weather protection.
Step 6. Adjust the Camera and Floodlight Angle
- Camera and Floodlight: Adjust the camera and floodlight angles so both point toward the intended monitoring area.
- Lens: Make sure both lenses are aligned horizontally with each other.
-
Slot Cover: Ensure the slot cover faces downward, with the Reolink logo facing up
NOTE: If the camera joint is too tight to adjust, gently loosen it using a wrench before positioning it and then retighten as needed.
-
By following this Reolink Elite installation guide, you'll set up your camera securely and safely, ensuring reliable protection and performance for years to come.
