Reolink has heard from many users wanting better integration with Home Assistant for smarter automation. As a Platinum Quality Partner, we're proud to offer seamless compatibility. This guide will walk you through how to add your Reolink device to Home Assistant step by step.
This article will cover the following sections:
1. What is Home Assistant?
Home Assistant is an open-source home automation platform that simplifies the management and automation of smart home devices. It integrates a wide variety of devices, such as lights, cameras, sensors, locks, thermostats, and more, providing users with centralized control through a web or mobile app. With Home Assistant, users can set up custom automation rules that trigger actions based on specific events, such as turning on lights when motion is detected, or adjusting the thermostat when the temperature drops. This makes Home Assistant a powerful tool for creating a more efficient, convenient, and secure smart home.

3. How to Add Reolink Devices to Home Assistant
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure of the following:
1. Enable Reolink device server ports.
Before integrate your Reolink device to Home Assistant, make sure RTSP and ONVIF ports are enabled.
- Open Reolink Client or the Reolink App.
- Navigate to Settings > Network > Advanced.
- Enable RTSP and ONVIF.
2. Find Reolink device IP address.
Take note of your camera’s IP address under Network settings—this will be needed for Home Assistant setup.
Note: For Reolink Home Hub users: Use the Home Hub IP address as the Host in Home Assistant. Adding a Home Hub will automatically add all cameras connected to it.
Method 1: Automatic Integration
If your Reolink device and Home Assistant are on the same local network, Home Assistant should automatically detect the device.
1. Open Home Assistant in your browser.
2. Navigate to Settings, you should see your Reolink device listed as a discovered device.
3. Click "Add". Enter your Reolink device username and password.
Follow the prompts to complete the setup.
This method is quick and easy, provided that your network allows device discovery.
Method 2: Manual Integration
If your Reolink device is not automatically detected, you can add it manually.
Step 1: Add Reolink Integration in Home Assistant
1. Log in to Home Assistant and search Reolink.
-
Open your Home Assistant and go to Settings > Devices & Services.
-
Click Add Integration at the bottom right, then search for "Reolink".
2. Enter your Reolink device credentials:
- Username: Default is admin, unless you have created a custom account.
- Password: The password set during the initial setup of your Reolink device.
-
Host: The IP address of your Reolink device.
-
If you see a Success! message, the device has been added successfully. Optionally, assign the device to an Area (e.g., Living Room, Kitchen). Click Finish to complete the setup.
Step 2: View & Configure Camera Stream in Home Assistant
-
Go to "Overview".
-
Scroll to the bottom to see the camera live view. Click on it to view the live stream.
By default, the camera uses the sub-stream (lower quality). To enable the main stream (higher quality):
-
Go to Settings > Entities.
-
Find Clear, click the disabled icon, and enable it.
-
Click the Settings icon to pop up settings menu and click enabled.
-
Now you can view the main/clear stream of the camera.
Your Reolink device is fully integrated with Home Assistant!
Step 3: Add More Cameras (Optional)
To add more Reolink cameras,
-
Click Settings > Add Entry.
-
Repeat the steps as above, enter username, password, and IP address for the new camera.
Step 4: Use Reolink Camera Features in Home Assistant
Once added, you can:
