The pre-motion record allows the camera to record before the event happens, and the pre-recording will last several seconds according to different models and hardware versions. This article will introduce you to different ways to set the Pre-Motion Recording for your devices.
Applies to: Reolink NVR with old UI and all Reolink cameras with SD card slot.
Step-by-Step Instructions
For Reolink battery-powered cameras:
1. Reolink Altas, Reolink Altas PT and Reolink Altas PT Ultra support pre-recording mode: Introduction to pre-recording of Reolink Battery-powered Cameras.
2. Other battery-powered cameras only support pre-recording when you are live viewing the camera at the same time.
For the other Reolink cameras:

Via Reolink Client
Step 1. Launch Reolink Client and log in to the camera, then click on the gear icon of the camera.
Step 2. Click Surveillance > Record > enable Pre-Motion Record.

Via Reolink Web browser
Applies to: All Reolink cameras and NVRs except for battery-powered cameras, E1, E1 Pro, Lumus, and cameras in NVR kit.
Step 1. Input the IP Address of your camera/NVR on a web browser and log in to your camera/NVR. Then click the Device Settings gear icon on the top right corner.

Note: Make sure your PC is connected to the same router as your camera/NVR.
Step 2. Go to the Surveillance > Record page. Click the button to enable Pre-Motion Record(turn it blue).

Via Reolink NVR (Old UI)
Applies to: RLN4-410 (hardware version H3MB17), RLN8-410 (hardware version H3MB02), RLN8-410-E, RLN16-410 (hardware version H3MB02/H3MB06)Go to Menu > Recording > Option page, then tick Pre-record option, and click Apply to save the settings.
Note: Reolink App and Reolink NVR (new UI) currently do not support the setting of pre-motion recording.
