) for waterproof protection. - Back Entry: An additional entry at the bottom of the base for more flexible cable routing.
-
Snap Hook Chain – for convenience and safety
- Metal chain connecting the front plate to the base via a D-ring.
- Allows you to hang the front plate (and attached camera) from the base during installation, freeing your hands for tools or ladder use.
- Can be temporarily unhooked for greater adjustment flexibility.
- Serves as a safety feature to prevent the cover and camera from falling when screws are loosened.
3. Installation Instructions
-
Pattern A/B – Bullet Cameras
Step 1: Mount the Base
1. Remove screws from the junction box cover to separate it from the base; unscrew cable gland cover.
2. Route the cables through the cable gland. Remove the rubber grommet temporarily if needed for easier insertion. (The rubber grommet can be opened along the slit to fit around the cable, ensuring a snug and secure fit.)
3. Attach mounting template to the wall/ceiling; drill holes accordingly.
4. Secure base with screws (use drywall anchors if needed).
Step 2: Attach Camera to Front Plate
1. Thread camera cables through the front plate cable entry and replace the rubber grommet. (The rubber grommet can be opened along the slit to fit around the cable, ensuring a snug and secure fit.)
2. Secure the camera to the corresponding mounting pattern using screws.
Step 3: Secure Front Plate
1. Connect and organize cables inside the junction box.
2. Attach the front plate to the base and tighten the cable gland cover.
Step 4: Adjust Camera
Done! Adjust the camera for optimal view. Refer to “How to Install Reolink Bullet Cameras” for guidance.
-
Pattern C – Duo Series
Step 1: Determine Installation Method
Ceiling mount: Install the camera bracket on top of the camera.
Wall mount: Install the bracket on the bottom.
Step 2: Attach the Camera to the Front Plate
1. Remove front plate screws and separate the plate from the base.
2. Thread tail cables through the camera bracket, mounting plate, and front plate. Use the rubber grommet slit for easier threading.
Note: The raised side of the mounting plate must face toward the camera.
3. Secure the mounting plate to Pattern-C holes and attach the camera bracket.
Step 3: Mount the Junction Box Base
1. Drill holes using the mounting template. Ensure the junction box is aligned with the camera angle.
Important: Do not install the junction box base at the wrong angle.
Since the camera bracket is fixed on the front plate, align the mounting template with your desired camera angle before drilling.2. Remove front plate and feed cables through the cable gland.
(The rubber grommet can be opened along the slit to fit around the cable, ensuring a snug and secure fit.)
3. Secure the mounting plate to Pattern-C holes.
Step 4. Secure the front plate
1. Connect and organize the cables: Connect the power supply and the network cable according to your needs. Then tidy the cables and place them in the junction box.
2. Secure the front plate: Secure the front plate to the base of the junction box with the screws. Then tighten the cover of the cable gland.
Step 5. Adjust the Camera
Done! Now you can adjust the camera angle to achieve the best field of view. You may refer to How to Install Reolink Duo Series Camera

Pattern D: Install Reolink RLC-81PA Camera with Junction Box RLA-JBS1
Step 1. Secure the camera to the front plate
1. Prepare the junction box: Remove the screws on the front plate to separate the front plate from the base. Then, unscrew the cover of the cable gland.
2. Feed the cable(s): Feed the network/power cable through the cable gland of the junction box. You can temporarily take the waterproof rubber grommet out of the cable gland to make it easier to thread the cable through. The rubber grommet of the cable gland can be opened along the slit to fit around the cable(s).
3. Thread the tail cables: Take out the rubber grommet on the front plate. It has a slit that allows it to be opened to put the cables in. Then thread the cables of the camera through the cable entry on the front plate of the junction box.
Then plug the rubber grommet back into the cable entry.
4. Secure the camera: Secure the camera to the corresponding mounting Pattern-D on the junction box with the screws.
Note:
The base of the camera is approximately an isosceles trapezoid (not square), so each hole on the camera bracket corresponds to one specific hole on the front plate.
To help you quickly identify the correct orientation and hole, you can make the camera's adjustment knob positioned on the left side. Then, refer to the image below for a clear visual guide to match the corresponding holes.
Step 2. Set up and mount the base of the junction box
1. Drill holes: Attach the mounting template to an appropriate location on the wall/ceiling. Then drill holes according to the hole position on the sticker using a drill bit (not included).
Important Note: The direction of the junction box base installation should not be decided arbitrarily.
The camera is fixed at a specific angle on the front plate of the junction box, so the junction box must be installed at the corresponding angle to ensure proper alignment. If this is not taken into account, it may result in the camera being installed at an angle that is not what you intended.
Therefore, before drilling the holes for the base of the junction box, check the camera angle you need, then attach the mounting template accordingly.
2. Mount the base: Mount the junction box to the wall/ceiling with the screws in the pack of screws of the junction box. If necessary, you can use the provided drywall anchors for additional support.
Step 3.
Step 4. Adjust the Camera
Done! Now you can adjust the camera angle to achieve the best field of view and then tighten the adjustment knob to secure the camera.
