Reolink's file decryption feature ensures secure access to encrypted video recordings. When videos are encrypted, unauthorized users must enter a password to view the content. Only by entering the correct password can users decrypt and view the recordings, ensuring that private data remains secure. Below are some steps to guide you on how to use this feature.
Applies to: Reolink Home Hub Pro, Reolink Home Hub, Altas PT, Altas PT Ultra.
Please understand that even if your Home Hub has enabled the encryption feature, the videos downloaded from the client are not encrypted, only the recordings downloaded to the microSD card will be encrypted. When you remove the microSD card and use a card reader to access it on your computer with a video player, you'll find that the video format is a special one that cannot be played directly. Therefore, you'll need to use a decoder to decode it before playback.
Note: This feature is only supported in client version 8.17 and above.
Step 1. Click the "Decryption Tool" button in the upper right corner.
Step 2. Click "Create new task" and add the files you want to decrypt. Then click "Next".
Step 3. Please enter the code and click "Start decrypting".
Note: If the password is incorrect, the file cannot be downloaded.
Step 4. You can find the decrypted files on the "Completed" screen. And check the selected files in the local folder.
Done! You have successfully decrypted the file.
