Two Installation Methods
Choose based on your needs: wired or wireless.
- Wired Connection: If you have an existing wired chime at home, connect the Reolink Video Doorbell (Battery) to your current mechanical or digital doorbell system.
- Wireless Connection: If you do not have an existing wired chime, opt for wireless installation.
Method 1: Wiring the Doorbell to Existing Chimes (Wired Connection)
Step 1: Verify Power Supply Specifications
Before proceeding with the installation, ensure that your existing power supply transformer meets the following specifications:
Voltage: 8 to 24 VAC
Frequency: 50/60Hz
VA: 5VA to 40VA
Note: If your power supply voltage is below 8V AC or above 24V AC, it is recommended to replace the transformer with one that meets these requirements. Failure to do so may result in abnormal chime operation.
Step 2: Remove the Existing Doorbell

- Turn Off Power: Ensure the safety of the installation process by turning off the power to the doorbell in the circuit breaker panel.

- Install the Wedge (Optional for Better Camera View): Install the wedge if the visitor is not centered in the camera’s view. Otherwise, skip this step.

As long as the connections are made correctly, the order of the cables does not matter. Just ensure that the cables are securely attached to the screws for proper functionality.
- Mount the Doorbell: Attach the Reolink Video Doorbell (Battery) to the mounting bracket.
- Restore Power: Turn on the power switch at the circuit breaker panel.

Step 4: Complete Pairing on the Reolink App
- Navigate to Settings: Tap on the camera's settings icon.
- Chime Settings: Select "Chime" and then tap "Existing Chime Settings."
- Automatic Chime Detection: Enable "Automatic Chime Detection." Follow the on-screen instructions to finish pairing your Reolink Video Doorbell (Battery) with your existing wired chime.
